Recognizing and celebrating the success of employees is a great way for companies to show appreciation for the people who make their businesses thrive. We decided it would be a good time for some positivity and to share the different ways that companies are showing their gratitude for their employees, whether it be during this era of remote work or in normal times.
Kyruus has always strived to showcase our teams’ accomplishments with a few different recognition programs in place - and being remote hasn’t changed that!
Kyruus Ku:udos is an employee peer recognition program designed to celebrate Kyruuvians (our employee moniker) who are exemplifying outstanding behaviors while also championing our CORE (Caring Ownership Respect Empowerment) values.
We know teamwork makes the dream work; our Moneyball Award celebrates cross-functional teams with exceptional performance while exemplifying our CORE values and the Silver Slugger Award is a way for managers to recognize the achievements of teams other than their own.
The Moose Awards at Rapid7 are employee nominated, executive team selected awards given quarterly.
Essentially, our people nominate their deserving colleagues who best represent each of our core values. It’s not a popularity contest – it’s a recognition of true embodiment of our values!
We send the winners a stuffed Moose and $500! This quarter's winner was Tuan Ying Goh, congratulations!
HealthEdge has been virtually celebrating company success in a number of ways. From Zoom happy hours, to senior leadership videos and frequent internal instant messaging, HealthEdge employees remain connected in these unforeseen times!
We continue to hire with fully virtual orientations and have successfully launched our summer internship program with 19 new faces.
At Drift, we work really hard and love to celebrate our wins along the way!
When we are in the office we have a giant Zildjian gong that announces major sales deals to the whole floor. To keep this fun tradition alive while we work from home, our VP of Conversational Sales, Armen Zildjian, (yes, same family!) sends videos of himself celebrating wins for the sales team on his own personal gong via Slack.
These videos keep the team motivated and usually makes for some great laughs.
Yesware has been celebrating success with daily recognitions over Slack, heartfelt shout-outs at our weekly company meeting, and sometimes even having special guests like this one at our virtual Pub-O-Clocks!
At Workhuman, we’re super users of our own social recognition products.
Our platform allows employees to thank each other and celebrate their work accomplishments, and our Life Events platform is used to celebrate personal milestones like the arrival of a new baby, running a marathon, or buying a new home.
In addition to being recognized by their colleagues for their hard work – employees can redeem their recognition moments for gift cards and merchandise on our Ecommerce site (Think anything from a new TV, a night out at a restaurant, or a family vacation to Disney!).
We’re proud to be a company that has an ability to connect teams, students, and essential workers, wherever they may be.
Owl Labs is rooted in enabling better collaboration and communication for both in-office and remote employees, with 40% of our workforce fully remote (pre-COVID-19).
Our mission is to equalize the meeting experience and make everyone feel like they are in the same room also applies to our company celebrations and activities.
Lately, we’ve been doing weekly Virtual Cocktail + Cooking Classes, Trivia Thursdays via Slack, weekly Lunch ‘n Learn Company All Hands meetings and Happy Hours to casually connect and share wins across the business.
Wellframe celebrates small and big wins every week during our virtual All-Hands meetings on Mondays. In addition, we've converted our employee recognition program, Trailblazers, to being fully virtual. Gift cards as well as nominations are sent via email to employees and celebrated across the company during All-Hands!
At Cogito, we pride ourselves on being emotionally intelligent which means we celebrate Cogician's accomplishments.
With no in-person celebrations right now, we are really focused on over communicating... from weekly email blasts sharing everyone's accomplishments to Slack announcements of new deals and promotions we focus on the positive.
Our favorite celebrations though are our monthly Recogicians; this is where anyone in the company can nominate someone for living up to our operating principles and their stories and pictures are featured in our monthly all hands meeting for everyone to celebrate. And on top of that, they can win gift cards to a place of their choosing!
Each quarter at Privy, our Customer Success & Support teams vote on 2 "heroes" of the quarter (one from Customer Success, and one from Support).
A hero is someone who builds relationships with both customers and colleagues, finds creative solutions to problems, and is super collaborative across Privy-- basically someone who rocks at their job.
Nominations are collected, complete with warm and fuzzy feedback, and the winners get a small token of our appreciation, personalized to what we know and love about them!
At Mimecast, we launched our Virtual Employee Experience Portal (the VEEP!) to give our employees daily resources to effectively work from home, stay well, care for their kids, and give back to our community. Who says you have to be physically together to support your employees and your community?
At the end of April, JRNI celebrated it's first 10 year anniversary of an employee!
Since we could not be all together, we spent the day posting in SLACK, and sharing memories as well as throwback pictures from the past 10 years of this employee. It was fun for not only that employee, but JRNI as a whole to look back at these pictures and to see how far the whole company has come!
In our weekly company wide "All Hands" meeting, we had a few slides dedicated to this employee which included memories and kind words from other employees and clients.
There are a few JRNI employees who are really into 3D printing, so one of them went above and beyond and even 3D printed a special one of a kind plaque (pictured above) for our 10 year employee!!!
DraftKings celebrated its' listing on the Nasdaq in April 2020 by hosting a virtual bell ringing ceremony for employees to partake in the historic event.
We’re all about celebrating wins, both big and small, at LogMeIn. Our sales teams share stories of accomplishments and best practices through dedicated “Wins” Slack channels. We also use Hoopla, which integrates with Salesforce, to share big sales wins in real-time as well as highlight top performers for the week, month and quarter.
During this time, celebrating success is more important than ever. At Agero, since we cannot be together in one place to honor a person, team, personal / professional milestone or a project, we incorporate the success into the various new ways we communicate and interact as an organization.
This has included a combination of issuing press releases for news-worthy successes, company-wide emails, postings on our company Intranet, company and team Zoom celebrations, sending treats via Uber Eats, comp days, Slack shout outs and more. In this case, one team surprised their colleague with a drive-by/socially distant celebration caravan.
Just as PrismHR began to work 100% remotely, our Culture and Engagement Team was getting ready to launch our first peer-to-peer recognition platform.
Built by employees FROM SCRATCH, our #Shoutouts Slack channel helps us celebrate big milestones, congratulate each other for an amazing job, or just say a simple 'Thank You.'
Employees can show their appreciation, assign points and at the end of each month the top points earner gets some sweet, sweet PrismHR swag. Virtual High-Five!
The Music Production Suite team at iZotope has been celebrating daily progress and successes by closing team meetings with a simple saying: 'Nice Hutch!', having evolved from 'Nice Try!'
The hutch appeared in the early days of WFH as the Zoom background for one team member. Since then, the magic and legend of the hutch have permeated throughout iZotope, bringing joy, quality woodwork, and the lost art of tchotchke display to all.
At Takeoff Technologies, we’ve been celebrating success in new ways. We encourage employees to use our “Kudos” Slack channel to celebrate their coworkers’ hard work when they pass an exam or exemplify any of Takeoff’s core values.
When we went live with a new client in the midst of quarantine, the Takeoff team showed tremendous support with the help of just one man and his go-pro.
And lastly, we launched our Rocketberry Mini-Series: a series of short videos hosted by our own employees! We’ve watched virtual concerts, learned how to bake, did yoga, and overall, made something great out of a tough situation.
In April, Recorded Future announced we joined the ranks of the world’s most successful SaaS companies by exceeding $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR). This was a goal achieved by our entire global team and it was disappointing we couldn't celebrate with everyone in person. Instead of our typical in-office celebrations for company milestones, we encouraged our employees (or Futurists as we call ourselves) to send in a photo of themselves raising a glass and created this collage that will be featured in each of our six global offices.
