The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description

The Small Commercial Line Of Business Management team plays a pivotal role in building market-leading products and experiences and guiding the strategy for each small commercial line of business. This role will be part of the Workers Compensation team focusing primarily on countrywide Workers Compensation analytics and strategy support. Under minimal direction, this individual will provide complex analytical assessments of line of business data, providing insights that guide decisions to support profitable growth for Workers Compensation. This role will include interactions with various stakeholders including but not limited to product underwriting, analytics, filing & delivery, state management, and premium audit to ensure that the Workers Compensation product is successful. The ideal candidate for this role will be a naturally curious analytical thinker that has a background in Workers Compensation, experience with Small Commercial data sources, and a track record of using data and industry knowledge to provide actionable insights, build business cases to support strategic decisions, and present findings to leadership teams across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Conducts high complexity data analysis under minimal direction.
- Sets up and runs advanced data queries to conduct formal and ad hoc analysis of metrics to answer advanced business questions.
- Presents work to managers, senior leaders, stakeholders, and occasionally Chief Product Officer in a clear and concise manner, providing actionable recommendations that support strategic vision.
- Provides input into product strategies and may create new product concepts.
- Leads cross-functional and moderate to high complexity workstreams that execute on the Small Commercial strategic vision.
- Builds advanced tools and queries for others to use and provides recommendations on the appropriate tools and techniques to perform analysis.
- Proactively mentors team members and builds analytical skills within the team.
- May assist in conducting competitive intelligence and monitoring market trends for a product line.
- May manage ADP's, interns, or short-term assignment team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field
- Minimum 4 year's relevant work experience, typically 6 years.
- Master's degree beneficial. Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, SQL).
- Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
- Experience managing projects preferred.
- Experience in Workers Compensation product, underwriting or analysis is preferred.
