The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
This role owns the product strategy for one or multiple complex functional areas, the delivery of which generally spans across portfolios. The role represents the voice of the customer and the organization through the delivery of business value. Works closely with stakeholders (business and technology), including executive leadership, to define and prioritize cross portfolio features and stories, ensuring alignment with customer needs and short- and long-term organizational goals. Understands customers' problems in detail and ensures the problems are clearly defined, prioritized and the squad/team is focused on the most valuable work for the organization. Collaborates with squad/teams, technologies and architects across multiple portfolios to develop a deep understanding of the technologies and systems they support. Identifies existing capabilities and ensures their adoption where needed within the portfolio as well as identifying capability gaps and ensuring there isnt duplicative efforts taking place to help reduce redundancy and promote reuse.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for leading cross portfolio strategic initiatives. Sets ambitious and clear cross portfolio strategy, develops comprehensive product vision and translates into roadmaps based on ongoing input from stakeholders.
- Accountable for developing and achieving product level KPIs.
- Manages product(s) with expert level of strategy, scope, and complexity.
- Leads IT and business leadership to align development and business goals and priorities while working with stakeholders and the squad/team to remove roadblocks to execution.
- Owns and maintains the product cross portfolio/program level backlog and is accountable for its contents and prioritization.
- Resolves open issues/questions quickly and efficiently. Contributes to priorities for and leads portfolio quarterly planning.
- Leads the analysis and reporting on feasibility, cost of delay ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential changes to the product.
- Maintain knowledge of the industry, marketplace, and competitive landscape external to Liberty, and apply that to product strategy ensuring customer-driven design considering user pain points.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc, and a minimum of 10 years direct experience with Agile teams as well as 7 years in business, technology, or consulting
- Master`s degree preferred
- Preferred experience with direct to consumer business channel - digital and sales contact center operations.
- High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts
- Develops strong stakeholder relationships and influencing across multiple organizational boundaries
- Demonstrated experience leading varied audiences through the development of complex ideas, issues and designs
- Ability to lead varied audiences through census building
- Technical proficiency required to participate in sprint planning and have an informed, independent voice
- Strong influencing skills
