Richard, thanks so much for joining us,
Richard Juknavorian, HealthcareSource
Hey, thank you for having me really appreciate it.
Keith Cline, VentureFizz
So we're going to talk about HealthcareSource, which is a company that is very meaningful, like staffing of healthcare organizations, the demand for healthcare is just growing. So you need people to offset the growing demand. So you guys are in the epicenter of this. So talk about HealthcareSource and what you guys do?
Richard Juknavorian, HealthcareSource
Sure. So basically, our business is really focusing on providing a very comprehensive talent management software suite for customers in the healthcare space. Both acute care providers, so those are like hospitals, as well as senior living and post acute care providers. So think about nursing homes or assisted living facilities. In fact, that's one of our largest growing areas, as you might imagine, because of the baby boom, because of seniors, you know, moving into assisted living facilities. Senior level Senior Living organizations have have are seeing unprecedented challenges in finding talent right now.
Keith Cline, VentureFizz
So talk about that issue, right. So that if you're a mid market hospital, like competing for talent, if you need, obviously need a staff to provide services of health care, how are these companies or healthcare organizations competing for talent? And how does HealthcareSource help?
Richard Juknavorian, HealthcareSource
Yeah, I mean, they're certainly looking for innovation around talent, in terms of marketing for talent, in terms of allowing talent to utilize, um, you know, services like ours to make application processes very easy and efficient. They're looking for organizations like ours that have normally been a little bit standalone in terms of our applicant tracking systems, in terms of our job boards to be fully integrated now with with solutions like yours, with others, so that, you know, they can reach the highest number of people in terms of job boards in terms of resume submission, and also make it easy. And I like to use the phrase honestly, like meeting them where they're at. So if they're wanting to use text to apply, or they're wanting to do video interviewing, or they're wanting to do something else in terms of engaging with the organization, the organization is meeting the candidate where they're at, and allowing them to do that it's become more important as ever before, as the as the amount of talent is, the pool is shrinking. Right?
Keith Cline, VentureFizz
Now you're the Chief Product officer at HealthcareSource, so talk about your background.
Richard Juknavorian, HealthcareSource
Sure. So my background has been predominantly in healthcare information technology, and predominantly in product management. I've had the benefit of working for some really large healthcare information technology vendors throughout my career like McKesson is a great example. But I've also spent some time at organizations like the advisory board doing consulting. And I've also been able to spend some time on the payer side as well working for some large health plans. So I feel like that's given me the opportunity to kind of look at problems from both sides of, you know, the most common, you know, personas within healthcare, either you're a payer or a provider. And then, from that point on, I've been able to kind of just continue to focus on developing my product management skills around both the technical side of product management as well as sort of strategy and business development.
Keith Cline, VentureFizz
So what's the current state of HealthcareSource in terms of size, number of employees or whatever else you can share?
Richard Juknavorian, HealthcareSource
Yeah, absolutely. So HealthcareSource is just under 300 employees right now. So a very, very healthy size for our organization. We've got great EBITA, the company's doing extremely well from a financial performance standpoint. We've got about 3,500 healthcare organizations that are customers of ours, but really, that spans across nearly 6000 locations across the country. And I think right now is a really exciting time to join HealthcareSource, if you're specifically thinking about how you can help organizations innovatively attract talent. We're really looking for new opportunities and exciting opportunities to engage with with talent.
Keith Cline, VentureFizz
Now, as far as hiring, like what functional areas do you anticipate growth in terms of adding, you know, additional employees for HealthcareSource?
Richard Juknavorian, HealthcareSource
Yeah, that's a great question. Um, certainly, in terms of a lot of our back office growth is definitely necessary in terms of finance, accounting, but we also have opportunities within our customer service organization. Our customer success organization is, is our largest organization at HealthcareSource. So really, there's a lot of focus in the in client satisfaction and making our clients successful. But there's also opportunities within software engineering, security is a big focus of ours. You know, we handle a lot of personal information in terms of job applications. I mean, when you fill out a job application, think of all that personal information that you're putting on a job app. So security is a really, really front of mind issue for us. So there's opportunities within security as well as on the product development side too.
Keith Cline, VentureFizz
Now what's what's the culture like? What's it like working there?
Richard Juknavorian, HealthcareSource
Yeah, I think it's it's it's an amazing culture, we have a Chief Human Resources officer who is probably the best I've ever seen in in her drive to keep our culture and our engagement at at a high, high level of performance. In fact, I've never seen engagement scores at any other company that I've worked with, like the engagement scores that I've seen here. It's very exciting. It's a culture of yes, as I like to say, you don't hear no from people if you need help. If you reach out to someone, they're extremely happy and excited to to be a part of the problem that you're trying to solve. They love jumping in and trying to solve challenges for our clients. So you don't often hear somebody say, I can't do that you often hear how can I help you? Which is really cool.
Keith Cline, VentureFizz
