The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
We are searching for a high performing and highly motivated Director Product Owner (DPO) to lead our Risk Pricing and Pricing, Modeling, and Design Software Products.
The Risk Pricing space is a core component of our insurance platform providing all lines of business across Personal Lines and Small Commercial the capability to deliver premiums based on the risk models created by our data science team. This role is part of the Product Solution Domain within Experience and works very closely with our Technology and Data Science counterparts.
Pricing is a fundamental capability for our success. Maximizing the sophistication we put in market (how well segment our risk), increasing speed (how fast we deliver new pricing programs to market), and lowering cost (how much it costs to deliver sophistication and speed) are critical to win. These are ultimately the areas this role needs to help us excel on. To do this, the role will lead a group of Product Owners and Analysts and work with peers and senior stakeholders across the organization and Product in particular.
This role will join us at a critical point in our journey, as we are underway with our modernization efforts in the Pricing space. We are also continuing to break ground across our multiyear transformational journey to simplify and modernize our Product offering and our Technology. This journey will be one of the most critical ones our retail US business has had to undergo in 20+ years. Given the nature of the transformation, we will require top notch talent that has the skills, experience, seniority and strength to push through this complex journey.
The Leader in this role will:
- Lead: Be a leader, coach, and mentor to a team of Product Owners, Analysts, and Agile teams.
- Strategize: Develop Roadmap, Strategy, and Vision for the suite of software products based on a deep understanding of the markets, users, and industry trends related to Risk Pricing and Pricing, Modeling, and Design
- Evaluate: Conduct in-depth performance analyses of our Risk Pricing and Pricing, Modeling, and Design software products, formulate plans for improvement, and execute on them
- Prioritize: Establish objectives and key results (OKRs) in alignment with the roadmap and overall business strategy
- Analyze, Decide and Execute: Harness data-driven insights to build business cases and/or inform roadmap actions and strategy. Execute and deliver target key results.
- Collaborate: Collaborate closely with Product leaders as well as peer portfolio teams to align priorities, remove roadblocks and secure resources to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Present: Present frequently to peers and executive team, building alignment on your vision and strategy with a complex set of stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in relevant field and a minimum of 10 years experience in product, product delivery, or technology within financial services, customer or technology organizations
- Proven experience in product-centric and agile practices. Sufficient technical proficiency to drive product design and have an informed, independent voice
- Passionate and self-motivated with a desire to learn new tools and technologies
- Strong strategic and problem solver mindset with ability to break down complex problems into testable components
- Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty (incl. prioritization), proven ability to pivot and adjust quickly as new information is presented, and comfortable working in a fast paced and high-pressure environment.
- Leverage analytics to make data driven decisions that maximizes short/long term value
- Strong influencing skills, working with peers and leaders in a complex cross-functional environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
