We are looking for a Mobile Software Engineer I, to join our Android Mobile SDK team, responsible for creating a reliable platform for collecting sensor data to analyze driving behavior using native Android frameworks to collect phone sensor data as well as information from our proprietary hardware. The role involves developing, releasing, and maintaining high-quality code that is easy to test and extend for new product features, in a collaborative and cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement technical specifications provided by senior developers with some guidance
- Assist in solving complex problems and transform them into business solutions
- Participate in code and design reviews
- Design and build our Mobile SDK with guidance
- Implement software solutions that are reliable, readable and testable
- Follow company defined development and operational standards and processes
- Complete any additional tasks as they arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience in a relevant field
- Experience building Android mobile applications
- Experience consuming and/or designing REST APIs
- Proficient in Kotlin, familiarity with coroutines and flows
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns and data structures
- Familiarity with unit test or integration tests
- Familiarity with industry-standard third-party Android libraries
- Familiarity with Git
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
