The Senior Marketing Technology & Email Deliverability Architect plays a pivotal role in driving the technical success of Liaisons marketing initiatives. This position is responsible for designing, executing, and managing complex data integrations, API integrations, and landing page development, while also serving as the subject matter expert for optimizing email deliverability. The role focuses on ensuring seamless cross-platform data flows, maintaining system integrations, and enhancing campaign performance by implementing email best practices. In addition to technical expertise, the architect will guide teams through client onboarding, project management, and continuous training to maximize the efficiency of our marketing technology solutions. By leading email deliverability strategies, the architect will ensure emails reach recipients' inboxes, while maintaining high compliance with industry standards and improving overall engagement and campaign success.
Responsibilities:
Technical:
- Lead the design, execution, and management of data integrations between platforms like EMP, TargetX, WebAdMIT, Outcomes, and other internal and external systems.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across platforms through efficient ETL processes.
- Implement and maintain API integrations, ensuring secure and optimized data exchange between systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot and enhance API functionality.
- Develop, deploy, and optimize WordPress plugins and landing pages to support marketing campaigns.
- Ensure all web assets are optimized for performance, SEO, and user experience.
- Maintain and update Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager configurations across all CAS platforms to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Regularly audit and troubleshoot GA4 and Tag Manager setups to optimize data collection and ensure alignment with campaign goals.
E-mail Deliverability:
- Monitor Email Deliverability Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery rates, open rates, click-through rates (CTR), bounce rates, and spam complaint rates. Provide analysis and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain Email Sender Reputation: Manage and monitor the sender reputation, including IP warming, domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and ongoing reputation management.
Ensure Compliance with Email Laws: Stay up-to-date with email regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA) and ensure compliance with internal processes. - Identify and Resolve Deliverability Issues: Troubleshoot email deliverability issues, including blocked emails and spam folder placement, and collaborate with ESPs to resolve these issues.
- Optimize Email Campaigns: Provide input to marketing teams on email content, subject lines, and structure to maximize deliverability and performance.
- Manage IP Address and Domain Setup: Oversee the warming process for new IPs and domains and ensure proper configuration for email authentication.
- Maintain Subscriber List Health: Implement list cleaning practices to ensure the accuracy and validity of email lists.
- Avoid Spam Filters: Develop and implement strategies to avoid spam filters, including careful content review and sender reputation management.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with development, marketing, and client success teams to align email campaign strategies with deliverability best practices.
- Audit and Reporting: Conduct regular audits on email deliverability performance and prepare reports for senior leadership to showcase trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Marketing Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role with a focus on data integration, API management, marketing technology, and email deliverability.
- Expertise in email deliverability, sender reputation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with project management and working across departments to align technical goals with marketing strategies.
- Proficient in data integration tools, API management, and WordPress.
- Familiarity with web development basics, including HTML/CSS for maintaining and optimizing landing pages.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting software, understanding email campaign performance, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills with experience in training and public speaking.
