Cybersecurity is a fast paced, constantly changing industry. And as the bad actors get smarter, we need to make sure that we're up to that challenge. So when we're talking to candidates, the ones that jump out to us are the ones who bring a growth mindset and have that intellectual curiosity to challenge themselves and be willing to learn new ways of thinking just so that we can keep up with the pace of our industry.
Rapid7's interview process
Across the board, and across all levels of Rapid7, we've created a really intentional interview process that gives us the opportunity to really learn about you. But it also gives you a really good opportunity to learn about us. So the way that an interview process would start at Rapid7, if you apply to the position, or one of my colleagues or myself reaches out to you for a position, you'll get on a talent acquisition partner screen. So either myself or one of my colleagues will talk to you a little bit more about your background, what has you looking for an opportunity, and then also, you know, those logistic type questions. If we think that there's a fit here, we'll send you along to meet with the hiring manager who will definitely dive a little bit deeper into the role and around your experience and fit to the role. If those conversations continue to go, well, then we bring you in front of our interview panel, and our interview panel. The first round is typically a few cross functional peers or folks that you would be working with day to day so we do that about one or two people. And then the final round. And if you're interviewing for a hybrid role, we'll do that in person. So we'll bring you on to meet with one or two leaders. We'll also have you meet in person with the hiring manager again, and then also someone from our people strategy will be involved in the interview process as well to make sure that we have a great culture fit and that we're bringing great moves into the organization.
How to stand out during the interview process
A common misconception when candidates are interviewing at Rapid7 is that they need to come in and be a cybersecurity expert. We do not need you to be a cybersecurity expert to come into Rapid7 that's not always the case. So we really you know my tip for candidates that are going to be coming into an interview process is definitely to do your research but come in with an open mind come in and ask really great questions. You know, I always bring it back to our core values Rapid7 as five core values. Those are: be an advocate, ring you challenge convention, impact together and never done. So never done is a big one. When it comes to that constantly. We're learning new ways of thinking. So my tip to anybody that's interviewing at Rapid7, do your homework, but come in and ask really great questions that constant curiosity is something we look out for, whether you're interviewing for a senior executive position or an entry level role or even an internship.
