What we need
The Field Maintenance Trainer will educate and train our maintenance on our Symbotic automated robots and other system-related assets; such as our automated robotic fleet vehicles. An Automation Technician Trainer will become the system expert with a focus on mechanical, PLC, electrical or electronic subsystems related to our robotics systems.
What we do
The Field Maintenance Trainer is part of the Customer Operations organization. As part of the Customer Operations organization, the training team is tasked with going to our customer sites and leading the training, coaching, and development of both Symbotic and client personnel. The training of the site personnel will be a mix of classroom training and hands-on training. The Field Operations Training team is also a key resource to the development and success of our employees at our customer site
What youll do

The position is responsible for designing, creating, and delivering training programs.

Product training, process training, and technical training support to sites and internally when required.

Train on-site personnel with use of Symbotic equipment.

Escalate customer related issues to the appropriate departments and product owners.

Provide support to other customers at the direction of the Manager, Field Training.

Implement methods for evaluating training against the needs of the business.

Consult with management, employees, project leads and departments to identify ongoing training needs.

Suggest improvements to training events, programs, and material to improve effectiveness and meet evolving needs of the business.

Acquire, maintain, and actively provide working knowledge of all products and processes.

Become Subject Matter Expert on Symbotic RoverPick Bots

Identify methods and opportunities to make diagnoses & repairs cost efficient.

Train and develop the plant electricians to increase their ability to understand and troubleshoot controls related issues in the plant.

Debug PLC/Robot/HMI program to improve existing automated process.

Be an active member of the maintenance team while on-site.

What youll need
-
Bachelors degree required or equivalent work experience
-
Minimum of 3 years industrial controls experience.
-
Experience with DDC (direct digital control) systems, control theory, and robotics such as ABB or Fanuc.

Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, and FactoryTalk View development software.

Knowledge of advanced sensor programming, including scanners, distance sensors, encoders.

High level of PLC/Robot troubleshooting (programming experience a plus) with strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.

Strong electrical troubleshooting experience using Schematics, Multimeter, Megohmmeter, Oscilloscope.

Ability to troubleshoot, replace, and modify HMIs and VFDs.

Ability to read mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings.

Basic understanding of Ladder Logic.
Our Environment

Remote, field-based position

Travel is required up to 75% of the time. Employee must have a valid drivers license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

Our headquarters is in Wilmington, MA. The person taking this position will be required to perform work at our customer installation locations for extended periods of time where equipment is installed and ready for commissioning.

The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms

The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.

Approximately 75% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness)

There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.

You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground

Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105 to 32 Fahrenheit.
