The Role
As our Vice President, Information Security, you will provide strategic leadership and operational excellence while leading our global information security team. You will be tasked with delivering a comprehensive security program aligned with the organizations global objectives and regional strategies. Reporting to our Chief Legal Officer, you will have a deep understanding of the evolving landscape of security and technology and will collaborate directly with the senior management team and key business stakeholders (IT, dev ops, compliance, engineering, etc.) to manage and resolve security incidents, plan and implement information security projects to meet key business objectives across the organization, and champion Lakesides security strategy.
What You'll Do
The core functions of this role include:
- Providing strategic leadership and oversight of an information security program that aligns with Lakeside Softwares business goals, organizational initiatives, and product roadmap
- Deploying an enterprise-wide information security framework consistent with regulatory standards and industry best practices
- Promoting collaborative, effective, and security focused working relationships across the organization
- Serving as a customer facing resource and subject matter expert on security related matters
- Maintaining and administering an annual risk-based information security plan aligned with Lakesides strategies, goals, and risk profile
- Developing and evolving strategies to guard against loss or compromise of critical, valuable, and sensitive information and to effectively detect, respond to, and recover from information security issue
- Selecting and implementing information security threat mitigation strategies and safeguards
- Providing reports to relevant stakeholders on information security program status and material matters related to the program
What You'll Bring to Lakeside
The key requirements for this role include:
- 8 + years of relevant experience working in information technology and cyber security with a proven track record of developing, designing, and articulating a long-term information security strategy
- BA or BS degree in information security, computer science, or a related field. Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable
- Strong understanding of information security principles, practices, and technologies, including network security, application security, cloud security and endpoint security
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining common security frameworks (SOC2, ISO27001, NIST)
- Working knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations
- Experienced in B2B SaaS Solutions, preferably running in Azure
- Comprehensive understanding of evolving security threats, events, and market dynamics across business ecosystems to evaluate potential impacts and prioritize strategic focus areas
- Effective team leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with others through conflicting pressures and priorities while resolving complex issues
- Meaningful experience leading incident response efforts, including coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Deep credibility in developing and delivering security initiatives and programs to educate customers, partners, employees and other stakeholders on security related matters
- Expertise in conveying security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (including executives) with the ability to influence and advocate for necessary security measures
- Customer-oriented, emotionally intelligent mindset with an ability to develop strong relationships and navigate challenges
- Ability to be innovative and approach issues with a strategic mindset to provide thoughtful evaluations and recommendations on security risks as they relate to project aims, facilitating resolution in cases of conflict
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence or other machine learning tools would be a plus
Additional Details
- Location: Hybrid with a preference for 1-2 days per week in our Downtown Boston, MA office. The frequency at which the hire will be required to come onsite is based on their proximity to the office.
