Were embracing a hybrid work model that enables our teams to split their time between office and home. Hybrid for us means we expect our teams to come together in our state-of-the-art office on two core days, typically Tuesday and Wednesday, to work together in person, and teams can choose where they work for the remainder of the week. What Youll Do
SimpliSafe Finance is on a transformation journey, modernizing our financial systems, processes, and capabilities. We're looking for a Senior Accountant to help us shape our financial reporting and financial operations capabilities in the order-to-cash (OTC) cycle, inclusive of inventory accounting. You will play a key role in the monthly financial close as well as our finance optimization efforts to increase reporting insights and increase efficiency of the close. This is a dynamic role and will offer exposure to many different teams within finance and across SimpliSafe. Primary responsibilities include:
- Assist with the preparation and review of reconciliations of various general ledger accounts, including inventory accounts
- Oversee monthly consigned inventory analysis and review adjustments across all locations, investigating discrepancies
- Analyze product and sales channels profitability (i.e., Gross Margin Analysis)
- Review bill of material costs to ensure accuracy in the ERP
- Assist other teams with audit and review of SKU management to ensure consistency between CRM and ERP
- Prepare reporting and analysis on inventory including researching and explaining fluctuations to business stakeholders
- Implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy of underlying accounting records and provide more insights to stakeholders
- Partner with cross-functional teams on a regular basis, such as Logistics and Supply Chain & Manufacturing teams, to identify areas for improvement and solve problems
- Assist in the business process documentation of various end-to-end financial processes and strengthen internal controls in the order-to-cash cycle
- Work with external auditors and prepare audit workpapers as requested
- Assist in ad hoc analysis and projects as required
What Youll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Up to 4 years experience in public and/or private accounting
- CPA certification and Big 4 accounting experience highly preferred
- Ability to thrive in a high growth and entrepreneurial environment where strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are a must
- Track record of identifying process improvements and independently driving them from identification to implementation
- An ability to hit the ground running and learn quickly; a self-starter
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Experience with NetSuite, Zuora, and/or Coupa systems is a major plus
- Experience with leveraging BI and Data tools (Tableau, Alteryx, etc) preferred
