Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer with a strong background in IT automation, identity & device management, and system optimization. This role will focus on automating IT workflows, improving system efficiency, and enhancing security across cloud-based and endpoint management platforms (Okta, Intune, Jamf, Meraki, Google Workspace, etc.). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement automation strategies that reduce manual intervention and improve IT operations. Key Responsibilities
- Automation Development & Implementation
- Design and implement advanced automation solutions to optimize IT processes, including user account management, software deployments, patch management, and system configurations.
- Utilize JAMF to streamline macOS deployments and automate device management across endpoints, reducing manual effort and improving IT service delivery.
- Implement Intune and Okta to automate user provisioning, authentication, and access management, enhancing system efficiency and security.
- Automate routine tasks using tools like JIRA, Slack, and Google Workspace to enhance collaboration, streamline workflows, and increase team productivity.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize existing automation workflows to ensure long-term efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks.
- Expert End-User Support
- Provide advanced technical support to internal users via phone, email, and in-person, addressing complex hardware, software, and network-related issues with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to Mac systems, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Notion, and other IT applications, ensuring user satisfaction.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and best practices in the helpdesk ticketing system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- IT Infrastructure Support
- Monitor and manage Meraki network devices to ensure network stability, security, and high performance across different sites.
- Configure and maintain secure remote access solutions, such as VPNs and remote desktop connections.
- Collaborate with IT operations teams to deploy and maintain on-premises IT equipment, ensuring it supports evolving business needs.
- Security and Compliance
- Assist in ensuring compliance with organizational security policies, monitoring user access, and securing sensitive data using tools like Okta and Intune.
- Provide support for automated security measures, patch management, and vulnerability remediation processes to safeguard IT systems and infrastructure.
- User Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Lead end-user training sessions for IT tools, including Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, and other applications, ensuring users gain proficiency in core applications.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides to empower users and improve self-service capabilities.
- Collect user feedback on IT services, suggesting improvements and driving initiatives to enhance the user experience and satisfaction.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in supporting Mac hardware and operating systems at an advanced level.
- Strong expertise in Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Docs).
- Proficiency with Intune and Okta for user identity and device management, with a focus on automation.
- Proficiency with Jira for ticket management, tracking, and issue resolution.
- Proficiency with JAMF for macOS device automation and management.
- Advanced knowledge of Meraki network devices and networking concepts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience in IT automation, systems administration, or DevOps with a strong focus on automating IT operations and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Mac systems, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, and Notion.
- Extensive experience with Okta and Intune for identity management, as well as GSuite and Jira Service Management for collaboration and IT service operations.
The salary range for New York based candidates for this role is $115,000- $150,000. We use a location factor to adjust this range for candidates that are located outside of geographic region of our New York office. Placement within the salary band is determined based on experience.
