What we need
Symbotic is seeking a Machinist to work with mills, lathes, water jet, and other machine tools to quickly fabricate prototype parts, jigs, and design rework to support Design Engineering. MFG Engineering, and Test Engineering/Quality. This position will be responsible for reviewing, maintaining, and completing machine shop tickets and coordinating all shop activities.

What youll do

Program and Operate Machines to create parts from design drawings, CAD models, sketches, and oral instructions. Work with Engineers to define due dates and review tolerances to optimize part builds.

Maintain all machines in good working order as per the manufactures specifications, and maintain a safe, clean/organized shop and work area(s).

Order tooling and raw stock for projects. Identify and justify equipment that provides additional prototyping capabilities. Maintain in house stock items and work with VMI vendors.

Train and/or assist authorized employees to safely perform minor machining tasks to help execute small projects.

This will be a full time in office job.

Minimum travel to local suppliers for material review and/or availability.

This position will require the lifting of 50-60lb occasionally.

This position will require candidate to be on their feet for most of the day.
What youll need
-
10+ years of experience as a Machinist.

Must have experience with SolidWorks CAD software.
-
Need to have experience with CNC software such as Camworks or be familiar with other CNC machine software such as MasterCam, Fusion360, Carbide Create.

Must be familiar with Prototrak software/machines.

Some experience with Water Jet machines.

Working knowledge of ASME drafting standards and GD&T.

Woodworking experience a plus.

Familiar with computer MS; Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Strong leadership, organizational, communication and prioritization skills

Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as a part of a multidisciplinary team.

Must have great communication skills and work with a dynamic internal customer base.
Our Environment

Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid drivers license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
