The Role:
As the Director of Marketing at Goddard Technologies, you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for driving the company’s marketing strategy and execution to fuel growth and brand recognition. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing marketing programs that align with the company’s mission of providing turn-key services for product development, industrial design, and low-volume manufacturing to clients across the medical device, industrial automation, and robotics industries.
You will oversee all aspects of marketing, including brand positioning, digital and traditional marketing campaigns, content strategy, social media, public relations and event marketing, ensuring a cohesive approach across all platforms. This leadership role requires a strategic mindset, a collaborative approach, and a passion for driving measurable results. This is a hybrid position based out of our Beverly, MA or San Diego, CA locations, with a minimum of two days a week in-office.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute Goddard’s marketing strategy. Conduct market research, design and implement marketing strategies that support revenue growth, customer acquisition, and brand visibility across digital, social, and traditional channels.
- Oversee demand generation. Lead initiatives for lead generation, content marketing, and targeted campaigns, ensuring alignment with sales goals and nurturing the customer journey.
- Drive brand positioning. Define and communicate Goddard’s brand voice and messaging to position the company as a leader in engineering design services.
- Optimize digital marketing efforts. Manage digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing, ensuring data-driven approaches to maximize ROI.
- Work with external vendors as needed for support of Goddard content, website, SEO, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Work closely with sales, product development and customer success teams to align marketing efforts with sales initiatives and customer feedback.
- Measure and analyze performance: Track KPIs, analyze campaign performance, and leverage insights to continuously improve marketing effectiveness.
- Inspire, guide, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
- Support sales on key opportunities as a thought leader and market expert.
- Identify and foster strategic partnerships with industry influencers and relevant associations.
- Manage exhibition directory and logistics of booth equipment with input from Sales. Regularly attend industry conferences and trade shows to stay well-connected, networked, and informed about industry trends and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field required; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10+ years marketing experience, with a proven track record in a leadership role, preferably in engineering, design, or manufacturing services industries.
- Proven experience in crafting long-term marketing strategies, as well as executing strategies effectively, and ability adapt to industry changes.
- Deep understanding of digital marketing, content creation, and brand building. Fundamental skills in content creation include photography, video editing, blogging, and podcasting.
- Proficient in data analysis and using insight to inform marketing strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively present to executives and clients.
- Experience building and leading a team, fostering an environment of shared success, and working cross-functionally.
- Experience collaborating with sales teams to align strategies.
- Proficiency in using CRM platforms such as HubSpot.
- Knowledge in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, or similar graphic design applications.
- Knowledge in NetSuite and Open Air or similar packages a plus.
- Able to take and work with marketing photos and videos a plus.
- Ability to travel domestically for trade shows, conferences, etc.
