Overview

Are you looking for an opportunity for your work to have a meaningful, positive impact on the environment and people’s wallets? At EnergySage, we believe in a world powered by abundant, affordable, clean energy. A career with us will allow you to solve difficult problems that lead to a healthier, more sustainable planet, while having a lot of fun along the way. There’s never been a more important, rewarding time to work in the clean energy industry. We hope you’ll join us!

Every day, millions of Americans shop for renewable energy solutions, such as solar power – and thousands of companies look for well-qualified customers. But the process can be confusing, expensive, and intimidating. EnergySage is the go-to marketplace for making confident energy decisions and gaining control over the buying process. Our one-of-a-kind marketplace was developed with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Sun-Shot program to make solar and other renewable energy options more transparent, affordable, and accessible to all – and that’s exactly what we’ve done.

More about EnergySage:

  • EnergySage is far and away the most visited solar website in the county -- last year 10 million used our tools!

  • Our Marketplaces serves consumers in 39 states plus DC

  • With our community solar product, we’ve been able to expand access to solar energy for low-to-moderate income (LMI) communities

  • Solar panel installations facilitated by EnergySage produce nearly 300 GWh of electricity each year - enough to power 30 small countries

  • We’ve facilitated over $630 million in lifetime savings on electric bills for our customers

  • We have over 65 employees, are growing fast, and we are still hiring great people!

Key Partners of EnergySage

Culture

We are driven and passionate about what we do, without being competitive. We would rather see each other collectively succeed than push our individual priorities at the cost of someone else’s. We routinely collaborate across teams. Have a great idea on how to improve our business, our success, and our culture? First we’ll enable you to give it a go, then we’ll support you and see how we can help. We’ll give shoutouts for your successes, big and small.

We are genuine and caring. We ask how you are. We know your pet’s names. We care for each other and the environment. We extend these same values to our consumers (check out our reviews on Google!), our stakeholders, and our partners.

As for the work, we love what we do. Our team is what makes EnergySage special. We work hard, but maintain a respectful work-life balance. We’re solving hard problems that matter and need smart, passionate people to help us deliver results.

  • Values
  • Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Consumer first

Our top priority is to serve and empower consumers through transparency, equitable access to information, and personalized interactions.

Better together

We recognize that we gain and give more through collaboration, partnership, and diversity of experience and perspective. We respect one another and are inspired by what we learn and achieve together.

Integrity

We take personal ownership and pride in doing the right thing. Our consistency, competence, and high standards earn the reputation of “trusted advisors” with all of our stakeholders.

Substantive impact

We are committed to effecting and sustaining positive environmental, social, and market transformations through creativity, innovation, and persistence.

Iterative Excellence

Our intellectual curiosity and bias toward action drive us to continuously learn, evaluate, iterate, and improve.

We have always valued the diversity of experience our team members bring to the table. We also know that we have opportunities to broaden the diversity of our team. This starts with enabling greater access to our jobs and hiring a more diverse team-- from interns to full-time hires.

  • We are partnering with Resilient Coders to open pathways for individuals who have taken non-traditional paths to software engineering
  • Our Software Engineering Team has gone from 1 in 6 female to 1 in 3 in less than two years, and we’re hoping to continue this trend!
  • We have a history of hiring our interns for full-time positions, and have partnered with All In Energy and Bunker Hill Community College on initiatives to hire diverse and non-traditional students for internships
  • We’ve removed unnecessary educational requirements from all of our job descriptions to place more value on experience, related skills, and potential rather than school or degree
  • We do not require solar or renewable energy experience for most positions, and we state this in our postings; we invest time and resources in training individuals to gain the knowledge they need to do their jobs successfully

In addition to hiring, we’ve prioritized products that increase accessibility to solar for LMI communities, and have formed an employee-led, senior team-sponsored “Making a Difference” group to help broaden our awareness of racial equity and justice issues. We see these initiatives as a way to hold ourselves accountable and to continue strengthening our DEI efforts.
