The details on NuvoAir
So at NuvoAir, we're startup right? We were founded in 2016, in Stockholm, Sweden. And at this point, we're like 75 to 80 folks across three major hubs, that Sweden, the US, and the UK. And at a high level, we help folks who suffer from severe respiratory diseases, do two things one better understand and then to better manage their care.
What they look for in a candidate
I would start with our company values. So we have five company values. And the first one very intentionally by the whole company was set as be patient obsessed. Because ultimately, at the end of the day, the people we hired the things we build, the way we sell the markets, we're selling into, across the board, all that isn't in the best interest for patients, like we're not really doing our jobs, right. Outside of that there are a couple of core competencies, do you have a growth mindset, right? Are you actively giving and also receiving feedback? Well, are you looking for new ways to challenge yourself and to learn both from a career development, but also a professional and personal development standpoint, we also look for folks who are really strong communicators, and who have a spirit of collaboration. Ultimately, at the end of the day, there's such an appreciation for how hard and the really high quality of work that folks across the company are doing. And I hear that from candidates in their first week that one they see like the really great minds that we're working with, but there's also like a sense of humbleness that comes with that as well, right? Anyone across the company is happy to play at 510 15 minutes aside, to answer questions help you brainstorm and give you feedback on something. And that's just not something I've seen, I've other companies finally write the with. We talked a lot about like the strategic and structured thinking and critical thinking, for us, like one of our other company values is built to learn and another one is act like an owner. And honestly, at the end of the day, we could use the typical schpeel. But gosh, that's the like ideas, good ideas come from anywhere. And we definitely we definitely, of course, believe in that. But we want to even take it a step further, right? We create specific systems and structures in place within the company to make sure that we're not only just saying that a good ideas come from anywhere, but that we actually like are eliciting it's listening those types of ideas.
NuvoAir's interview process
First and foremost, like if we're being really frankly each other, having a long drawn out interview process is the bane of everyone's existence, we try and keep the interview process to a minimum number of steps. Basically everyone in the company, whether they apply get referred in or someone, they have a chat with recruiting first, just to get a sense of our culture, kind of what the scope of the role is, make sure it's a good fit for both us and also the candidate coming in, then basically, we have folks spent an hour with the hiring manager an hour or two with other members of the team. Every person in the company does some sort of case study. So for a developer, it's a coding test. For others. It's like a real world example of what you would be doing in, the roll final step. As offers, we do references more in the spirit of like, how do we best get you set up for success. Once you're here, in some we have gotten people through the interview process in exactly three days, if you can believe it. It's really, after the hiring manager or even like the recruiter phone screen call, it's kind of up to the candidate as how quickly we move, depending on how quickly they can turn around the case study, test, and such. So we're really big believers during the interview process, though at the end of the line like you, this has to work for you. And it also really has to work for us. The way that you decide whether this is a good fit for you is by asking us questions, doing your homework and doing a lot of digging.
Interview prep tips
Some advice that I would give to anyone who's interviewing probably boils down to two main things. One, we'll send you a video that talks a bit about our product, the impact of honor patients and so on, I would I would definitely take a look at it. Right? If that speaks to you, if it gets you excited, if it makes you feel passionate. That's definitely something that we want to hear about. And that we want to know. And the other thing honestly, I know all companies say this, but we actually like we really truly do mean it. Bring your full, authentic self, right. We're a group of people who ultimately have like one main thing in common, and that's helping patients live healthier and better lives. And I know it probably sounds a little cheeky, but honestly, we all really, really care about that. And we're definitely a culture that is a little bit more laid back, right? We're not really stuffy and over the top like corporate and professional for yourself. We want to get to know the real you. It'll help us like build a bond and help describe our culture better.
Why you should join NuvoAir
So someone should be excited about joining at the stage right now because even though we've been around for a little bit, there's still a lot of building from scratch and iterating we're at that cool stage. We're still pretty small. We're really nimble there. Isn't bureaucracy and red tape and anything like that across the organization? And so if you have an idea like not only do we actually want to hear it, there's really easy channels and ways to bring that idea forward. So for folks who like to build and want to have an impact on how a company is built from the ground up and shaped, this is definitely the time to do that.
