How Companies are Giving Back to their Communities - 2024

With the holiday season quickly approaching, we wanted to connect with companies across the tech scene to see how they are taking part and giving back to their communities.

Throughout 2024 mablers have supported many local, national, and international charitable organizations through our #mabl-gives-back initiative, in which mablers choose organizations to donate to through our peer recognition program.  In addition to this regular cadence of giving back, mablers have also hosted donation drives supporting Wonderfund's Impact: Backpack and Operation Gratitude.

This Fall, the Rue Gilt Groupe Boston office teamed up with A Bed for Every Child to build 12 beds for children.

Associates built twin bed frames using materials and instructions provided. These beds will be donated to families across the Greater Boston area who don't have a place to sleep at night. We're so happy to be able to give back to our local community.

Agero has several community partners that we support, volunteer with, and donate to throughout the year. Our focused community support spans across Next Generation and Innovation organizations, Health and Family focuses, Sustainability initiatives, and Roadside funds that support the tow truck providers in our network.

  • Agero associates have volunteered their time to Read to a Child’s Read Aloud Mentoring Program where an adult is partnered one-on-one with an elementary school student so they can read together during lunch time. Regardless of either in-person or virtual sessions, students are eager to make meaningful connections with mentors who are invested in not only their literacy skills but overall wellbeing.

  • Every year, a handful of Agero associates raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital and participate in Corporate Cup which is essentially a large field day for adults. Companies compete against each other in several mini-game challenges with the common goal of raising the most money for such an important cause.

  • Since 2013, Agero has partnered with Mystic Valley Elder Services every holiday season to participate in their annual Giving Tree Program. Associates fulfill wishlists for over 100 older adults and adults with disabilities who are local to Agero’s Headquarters in Medford, MA.

  • Typically around Earth Day, Agero partners with Mystic River Watershed Association to clean up trash along the river the Agero HQ overlooks, as well as learn about the local ecosystem through education from a partner in the organization.
  • Service Providers and Tow Operators are critical to Agero's business. In 2005, the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum established its Survivor Fund to provide immediate financial support to families of towing operators who lose their lives in the line of service in our industry. Agero is proud to support the Survivor Fund and our partners in the Service Provider industry.

As part of SmartBear Gives Back, SmartBear's global philanthropy program, our team at the Somerville headquarters is getting out and giving back this holiday season. For a third year in a row, we worked with Cradles to Crayons, purchasing new children's clothing and volunteering in their local Giving Factory to quality check donations.  We're also expanding our partnership with the Somerville Homeless Coalition this year, with team members volunteering at the food pantry, serving community dinner, and hosting a holiday donation drive.

In 2023, we launched Sincere Foundation to support organizations and programs that address the basic needs of a community. In its first year of operation, Sincere Foundation donated $385K in grants to 29 organizations that support the Foundation’s three funding priorities: food security, housing stability, and safe spaces. We envision a future where everyone has the opportunity to celebrate, recognize milestones, and honor memories.

Our team is passionate about giving back. Sincere team members also participate in annual volunteer days, food and toy drives, company-matched donation initiatives, and more.

Vestmark's Heart of Giving is our company's commitment to making a positive impact on our community. We're dedicated to fostering a culture of giving back, aligning with our "We Before Me" value.

This year, we volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to build a home right here in our community, walked together for Breast Cancer Walk to raise awareness and show solidarity, cleaned up Lake Quannapowitt on Earth Day, donated backpacks to REACH to help students succeed, and currently collecting gifts for the Boys and Girls Club’s Gift Drive to spread holiday cheer.

Mimecast partnered with STEMatch to invite students of Gardner Pilot Academy to our offices. During their time, they were able to hear about what it’s like to work in the technology industry across multiple career paths. Students were able to take apart laptops, create their own hypothetical teams, and learn security best-practices.

At PatientPoint, we’re deeply committed to making a positive impact through our charitable and community-driven initiatives. Recently, over 150 teammates participated in our second annual Community Day, giving more than 400 hours to organizations like PAWS Chicago, Nourishing Hope, Cincinnati Parks, and more. Additionally, our PatientPoint Foundation amplifies this mission by making health education and technology accessible in underserved communities, supported by our commitment as a Pledge 1% member, dedicating 1%+ of our profits, products, and employee time to bridging gaps in care.

Along with making a positive difference in the lives of homeowners, we strive to make an impact on our local communities through volunteer work. In 2024, that included donating hygiene kits and backpacks to those in need through Heading Home and Pine Street Inn, and participating in Heading Home’s Up & Out program — during which our employees helped shelter guests transition into permanent housing.

At Recorded Future, 2024 Veterans Day celebrations kicked off with our 3rd Annual Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) event for Veteran’s Day on November 8th in Washington, DC! Residents, local veterans, active members, and organizations celebrated with music, food, and fun while raising money to support the home with projects focused on wellness, vitality, and camaraderie.

CarGurus' Drive Change charitable giving and community service program empowers Gurus to create meaningful impact in their communities. From donating gently used tech equipment to STEM programs to hosting fundraisers like the annual CarGurus Open golf tournament, we aim to make a difference to those in need. Our recent Service Weeks brought together 450 Gurus to support 26 nonprofit organizations. Activities included meal prep and serving, assembling furniture for veterans, donation sorting, wildlife habitat restoration, and more.

Attensi is committed to making a positive impact on the community through various initiatives. This year we organized a bake sale to raise money for BAGLY during Pride month and supported the Girls and Boys club of Boston through the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge.  Currently, we are running a food drive to support ABCD (a local nonprofit) heading into Thanksgiving and have a team supporting the YMCA in their annual holiday gifting event.

Additionally, we focus on sustainability efforts such as driving towards a net zero carbon footprint, educating our workforce on sustainable development, and reporting on our sustainability progress.

By actively engaging with the community, we aim to create a lasting, meaningful difference for those around us.
