The Role
Spoiler Alert is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Head of Growth Marketing to lead our overall Marketing strategy - with a particular focus on developing, executing, and optimizing a Demand Generation motion that delivers qualified leads, pipeline growth, and revenue.
As the market leader in helping CPG brands optimize their discounting strategies for excess and aging inventory, Spoiler Alert has a strong customer base of globally-recognized brands, a complex and financially-motivated value prop, and a real, impact-oriented mission. We are seeking a scrappy, entrepreneurial marketing professional that grew up in Demand Generation and will be passionate about accelerating market awareness of our solutions - which includes both a SaaS offering for enterprise CPG brands, as well as a new Marketplace offering for emerging brands.
In this role, you will report directly to the CEO, serve on the Senior Leadership Team, and be expected to shape our overall marketing and demand generation strategies. You will build and mentor a lean but impactful team that can execute multi-channel campaigns and effectively target our key markets and customer segments. The ideal candidate will have a visionary but scrappy approach for our go-to-market strategy and the agility to execute independently with speed and conviction.
Responsibilities
As Head of Marketing, you will:
Marketing Strategy
- Develop and oversee the marketing strategy and demand generation initiatives, being accountable for clear pipeline contribution and revenue targets
- Drive our digital marketing strategy, including website optimization (inclusive of architecture and HubSpot integration), SEO/SEM, social media, and content
- Lead our existing Product & Customer Marketing and BDR teams; with time, recruit and mentor a lean but mighty team of marketing professionals that embrace data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
- Establish KPIs and implement marketing analytics to track, measure, and report on the performance of marketing activities and budget allocation
- Evaluate and implement a best-in-class marketing tech stack to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing and demand generation activities
- Manage and advocate for an impactful but efficient marketing budget that drives direct, observable contributions to pipeline and customer growth
- Leverage market research, customer insights, and competitive analysis to inform marketing strategies and adapt to market trends
Demand Generation
- Develop and implement a comprehensive demand generation strategy - leveraging intent data to establish a lead scoring model for both Enterprise named accounts and Emerging/SMB brands
- Oversee the creation, execution, and optimization of multi-channel marketing campaigns (with a particular focus on email marketing, SEO/SEM, webinars, ABM, and events) to drive awareness, engagement, and conversion of both our SaaS and Marketplace offerings
- Coordinate outbound and inbound motions and messaging with BDRs and AEs, tech stack deployment and optimization, as well as CRM hygiene
- Implement and manage lead nurturing programs to engage prospects and existing customers throughout the customer journey, from education and awareness through to advocacy
Qualifications
- 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, inclusive of: A) 6+ years in demand generation (including 2+ years in a leadership role), and B) at least 1 year in a marketing leadership role that included multiple marketing functions (including demand gen, digital, content, and marketing operations)
- Clear track record of successfully leading the demand generation strategies for a high-growth, early-stage technology company
- Strong, hands-on understanding of marketing automation platforms and adjacent tech stack
- Expertise in multi-channel marketing, including digital marketing, content marketing, SEO/SEM, ABM, and events
- Data-driven mindset with a strong ability to analyze complex data sets, derive insights, and make informed decisions
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience hiring and motivating a high-performing, outcomes-driven team
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred qualifications:
- 2+ years in a growth-stage startup (having gone from $10M to $50M+ ARR)
- 2+ years in the CPG industry (particularly supply chain, distribution and retail)
- 2+ years of marketing a sales-, marketing- or fin-tech solution (ecommerce, trade promotion management, etc.)
- Experience managing BDRs
- Experience with both SaaS and Marketplace solutions
- Experience with both Enterprise and SMB segments
- Experience marketing to individuals in Sales Operations, Supply Chain, and/or Finance roles
- Familiarity with inventory management, trade promotion, e-commerce, and/or analytics tools

- Spoiler Alert believes that everyone should be compensated fairly and equitably. We set our salary ranges using compensation data from startups at our stage. The salary range for this position is $170,000-200,000 base + performance-based bonus. Pay will be determined based on our assessment of your level and is not determined by location
