Quality Engineer
Job Description
What we need
As a Quality Engineer, you will interface with manufacturing, supplier quality, engineering, and test teams to drive high levels of quality and field reliability for our robotic systems. In addition to engineering responsibilities, you will serve as a Lead for Quality Technicians, ensuring all products meet strict quality standards through comprehensive inspections and leadership of quality improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate must strategically apply technical knowledge, metrology tools, and methodologies to examine field data, bot health, and site quality concerns.
What we do
The Quality team within the Service Center of Excellence is dedicated to supporting all Quality inspection activities at the Repair Centers. Our primary focus is on ensuring that all repaired bots meet or exceed our Quality standards after repair. The team works in close collaboration with the Repair and Inspection Techs as well as with other departments as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction upon receipt of all repaired bots.
What you’ll do

Oversee quality control operations and lead Quality Technicians in inspecting and testing products to ensure they meet strict requirements.

Plan, execute, and manage quality activities, including creating and implementing comprehensive quality control protocols for new products and processes.

Lead cross-functional teams to solve significant quality issues using structured methods such as QRRC, QRQC, 8-D, and 5-Why analysis.

Perform manufacturing quality activities focused on daily and weekly performance updates using dashboards and KPIs.

Analyze and evaluate field return materials (RMA) and utilize root cause methodologies to develop corrective and preventive actions.

Conduct internal audits and prepare the organization for external quality reviews and certifications such as ISO 9001.

Communicate issues and drive resolution with bot manufacturing, test, and engineering teams to address failures found in production.
What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is required.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance and inspection, with at least 2 years of quality engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing industry.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage quality initiatives, specifically within robotics or complex electromechanical systems.

Deep knowledge of quality management tools including FMEA, DOE, MSA, GRR, and Control Plans.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in statistical process control software such as Minitab, JMP, or SAA.

CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, or certified ISO 9001/AS9100 auditor preferred.
Our Environment

Up to 10% of travel may be required; candidates must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client locations.

Ability to lift components up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The employee is responsible for managing expenses personally via a credit card to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
