What we need
Symbotic is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Supply Planning to lead Bot forecasting and bot spares/repair material availability. This role is critical in ensuring seamless operations by ensuring new Bot production capabilities meet customer commitments and existing fleets have the parts needed to run at their highest potential. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with executive-level stakeholders and deliver results in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. This role will provide direct leadership for our repair center Material Planners. 

What we do

 The Production Control team manages project-based planning and material execution for complex, customer-specific automation systems. This group oversees material coordination, supply execution, and logistics alignment to ensure materials and equipment are available when and where needed to support installation and commissioning. Production Control works closely with other Supply Chain teams, including Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier partners, to align demand, supply, and execution across large-scale customer projects. 

What you’ll do

  • Develop long-term bot forecasts and partner with operations partners to ensure production capacity is aligned for future growth. 

  • Lead a team of Repair Center Material Planners to ensure material availability at our repair centers. 

  • Monitor and manage bot part inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses, ensuring alignment with operational and customer requirements. This role will develop safety stock strategies targeted at keeping customer bot fleets operational.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality Manufacturing, Production, Procurement, and Logistics, to streamline supply chain processes and enhance efficiency. 

  • Utilize SAP to create and maintainaccurate material availability, track material movement, and analyze supply chain performance. 

  • Serve as the primary liaison with executive-level stakeholders, delivering concise, data-driven insights and updates on material planning and operational performance. 

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks or disruptions in the supply chain, implementing proactive measures to mitigate risks. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecasting accuracy, reduce lead times, and optimize overall supply chain operations with cross functional teams. 

  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for planning and material management processes. 

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 

  • Minimum of 8 years in Production Planning, Supply Chain, and Inventory Management. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred. 

  • Minimum of 3 years of people leadership experience.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven success in engaging and influencing executive-level stakeholders. This role will be customer-facing and requires demonstrated skill in interacting with customers/executive-level stakeholders.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment toward shared objectives. 

  • Highly organized, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools. 

  • Certification in supply chain or production management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus. 

  • Experience in a manufacturing or technology-driven industry. 

Our Environment

  • MA – WIL based role .

  • Up to 20% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.  

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
