Job Description

What we need

Symbotic is seeking a Logistics Specialist – Distribution Planning and Execution to support warehouse-centric distribution planning and execution for complex automation system deployments and after-sales operations. This role translates supply, inventory, and project demand signals into actionable material flow plans by coordinating how materials are positioned, staged, kitted, and released through warehouse networks.

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for day-to-day planning, coordination, issue resolution, and execution tracking to ensure materials are buildable, site-ready, and aligned with installation milestones. This role also incorporates analytical elements of logistics planning, including reviewing material flow, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending improvements to warehouse positioning, release timing, and delivery sequencing.

What we do

At Symbotic, the Production Control team manages project-based planning and material execution for complex, customer-specific automation systems. This group oversees material coordination, supply execution, and logistics alignment to ensure materials and equipment are available when and where needed to support installation and commissioning. Production Control works closely with other Supply Chain teams, including Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier partners, to align demand, supply, and execution across large-scale customer projects.

What you’ll do

  • Support execution of site distribution plans to align warehouse positioning with installation schedules and site readiness.

  • Execute and maintain warehouse mix plans (SKU, quantity, timing) based on supply, inventory, and project demand.

  • Identify gaps in buildable material availability and recommend adjustments to improve site readiness.

  • Apply logistics engineering principles to improve material flow, inventory positioning, and delivery sequencing.

  • Coordinate with warehouses on staging, kitting, and outbound readiness for site deliveries.

  • Track site material readiness and support sequencing of warehouse releases to align with installation milestones.

  • Partner with Transportation to ensure shipments align with planned release timing and priorities.

  • Resolve execution issues related to material shortages, imbalances, or flow inefficiencies.

  • Maintain reporting on site readiness, material availability, and warehouse output performance.

  • Drive continuous improvement in distribution planning and warehouse flow efficiency.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minium 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory planning, warehouse operations, or related roles.

  • Experience working in environments involving multi-site coordination, inventory flow, or project-based execution.

  • Working knowledge of inventory and warehouse processes, material staging, kitting, or fulfillment operations.

  • Basic transportation and delivery coordination concepts.

  • Experience using ERP, WMS, or planning tools for tracking inventory and execution.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to translate data into actionable plans.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to operate with structure while adapting to changing project timelines and supply constraints.

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
