Overview

Point Wild is looking to add a talented senior software engineer with strong AWS infrastructure and architecture experience to our Engineering team. In this role you will contribute to building and maintaining scalable and efficient backend APIs and event-driven systems for a new external-facing product.

Day to Day:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications in GoLang, Java, and Typescript
  • Architect and manage AWS infrastructure with Terraform
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Github Actions
  • Design and implement system architecture for scalability and reliability
  • Implement robust error handling, logging, and alerting
  • Monitor system performance over time and automate anomaly detection
  • Develop and manage event-based systems in lower and prod environments
  • Optimize system throughput, performance, and cost for the goals of the product
  • Collaborate with team members in architectural reviews, code reviews, and planning
  • Write clear and concise technical documentation

What you bring to the table:

  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of AWS serverless infrastructure experience
  • Experience in a B2B SaaS organization
  • Proficient in several modern programming languages (such as GoLang, Java, Typescript, etc.)
  • Able to lead other engineers working on platforms such as MacOS, iOS, Windows, Android so clients and backend integrate seamlessly and follow common architectural goals
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles, tools, and practices
  • Specific experience with AWS services: API Gateway v1 and v2, Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch events/logs/alarms, RDS, Route 53, Secrets, VPC
  • Master at error handling in distributed systems
  • Experienced with event-driven systems in AWS
  • Experience optimizing system performance, throughput, and cost
  • Capable at writing technical documentation for various audiences
  • Experience designing extensible, flexible, and versioned APIs

Bonus points if you have:

  • AWS networking and security
  • VPN technologies and products
  • Anti-virus technology experience
  • Password manager technology experience
  • Knowledge of Identity-based technologies and platforms
  • Experience developing Windows, MacOS, iOS, or Android applications
  • Experience in the MSP space
