OnRamp is the customer onboarding and engagement platform that accelerates time-to-value and time-to-revenue, now supercharged with agentic AI.
We connected with Frank Auger, Chief Operating Officer, to learn about his role, what attracted him to OnRamp, and much more.
In this video:
What is the role of a Chief Operating Officer at OnRamp?
As the Chief Operating Officer at OnRamp, the primary responsibility is driving scalable growth. Functionally, this includes overseeing product and engineering, customer success (CS), support, expansion, renewal, revenue operations (rev ops), and marketing—encompassing everything except sales and G&A. In plain English, scalable growth means making sure the operation gets better at a faster rate than it gets bigger.
What background experience does Frank Auger have?
Frank Auger has spent his career in a variety of roles, mostly centered around customer success (CS). Notably, he spent 10 years on the original HubSpot leadership team where he built all post-sales processes and teams prior to the company going public, later serving as their CIO.
What is the most important lesson learned from scaling a tech company?
The most important lesson for a leader is to proactively drive change. Regardless of how well something is working or if it is broken today, it will be obsolete tomorrow. In technology, companies either stay ahead of the curve or get left behind.
Why did Frank Auger join OnRamp?
There are two main reasons:
Great founders and teams: Great companies stem from great founders who build great teams, and he has known OnRamp's founders for years.
Solving familiar problems: Having spent his career managing post-sales teams, he is motivated to work on a product solving the core challenge of providing a world-class customer experience at scale while doing more with less.
What does a typical day look like for a COO at OnRamp?
In a software startup, there is no typical day; every day brings new surprises, challenges, and opportunities. Time is split equally between external work, internal teams, leadership, and heavy recruiting and hiring. The main focus is investing time in high-leverage work and communication that drives alignment and focus across teams.
How is AI impacting productivity at OnRamp?
The smart deployment of AI across every team at OnRamp has increased productivity by roughly 10x to 20x compared to 18 months prior. Projects that previously required massive resource investments can now be accomplished in a fraction of the time. This shifts the limiting factor on growth away from team size and toward the vision, creativity, and relevance of the company.
