Seismic has been named a Best Place to Work by the Boston Business Journal the past three years. Why?

Yes, there were the incredible business accomplishments, such as the fifth-straight year of triple-digit growth, a $40 million Series C round of funding which included the former CIO of GE joining our board, and being named an industry leader by Forrester Research and one of the most Most Entrepreneurial Company in America by Entrepreneur Magazine. There was the 33% growth in headcount here in Boston, and the new office openings in San Francisco and New York City, in addition to the new headquarters in San Diego and the 3,000 square feet of additional space in Boston.

But above all of that, the real reason why we love coming to work here is the people. It’s an incredible mix from a host of different backgrounds, including firefighters and Pittsburg Pirate pitchers, serial entrepreneurs and cover band lead singers, doctors and Fenway park concession vendors. We even have two office dogs to add to the mix, Mic the shiba inu and King the Australian shepherd.

It’s a, well, unorthodox group for an enterprise software company, but what has brought all of us together is a devotion to each other and a desire to help others. And when we are together, in and out of the office, the results are (perhaps expectedly) wild. Our annual Seismic Activity event brings our employees from across the world into one central location to celebrate our successes and future growth. (This past year we headed out to San Diego.) For our annual holiday party this past December, we invaded the Liberty Hotel. Then there are the regular field trips to Celtics and Bruins games (our office is across the street from the Garden), and bocce games down on the Waterfront.
