Sales Leader, Commercial
Job Description
What we need
We are seeking a highly experienced Sales Leader to drive our commercial sales efforts and deliver revenue growth at Symbotic. In this role, the individual will be responsible for executing on the sales strategy, including sourcing & developing leads, managing the deal design and flow, and closing multi-year contracts. This role will work with a broad set of teams across Symbotic and our customers including Symbotic sales, finance, legal, engineering, product, and our customers key stakeholders including operations, finance, IT, legal, and the full C-Suite to drive customer value creation from concept to benefit realization meeting our customers’ supply chain network automation needs.
What you’ll do

Work with a cross functional team to generate sales leads, engineer customer value, design deal structure, and shepherd opportunities to contract signature.

Identify new opportunities in emerging industries, including manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and retail automation.

Manage pipeline opportunities to ensure accurate forecasting, consistent deal flow, and timely execution of sales strategies.

Collaborate with marketing and product teams to refine go-to-market strategies and ensure alignment with customer needs.

Work with/lead cross-functional teams in the development of new solution configurations and designs that will integrate Symbotic systems in our customers’ facilities.

Understand our customers’ business challenges, motivations for automation, operational processes, and propose new solutions that deliver improved productivity and value.

Cultivate strategic relationships with key customers to deepen partnerships and identify opportunities for upselling/cross-selling automation solutions.

Be able to transform business needs into specific hardware, software, or system-level recommendations leading to solutions that enhance our value proposition

Working closely with designers, develop comprehensive warehouse and other customer site layouts.

Interface with Systems Engineering for process definition and advanced modeling needs.

Lead sales calls with the sales team to answer technical questions about Symbotic.

Drive quality delivery of sales proposals leading to closed sales.

Capture customer requirements to support product evolution input.

Strong presentation skills with the confidence to present to large, executive-level audiences

Create and maintain a professional teamwork environment and being an excellent team player while working with various engineering team members
What you’ll need
-
Minimum 15 years’ experience in the materials handling industry

Proven track record of helping close large ($50M+) projects with existing customers,
-
Ability to manage complex projects and proposals in the automated materials handling industry

Demonstrated leadership experience with cross-functional teams; indirect leadership experience should be evident

Experience with financial analysis, business case justification, and cost/benefit tradeoffs.

Prior experience writing sales proposals

Strong presentation skills with the confidence to present to large, executive-level audiences

Excellent team player, able to work professionally with members of various engineering teams

Excellent critical-thinking skills

Strong sales and customer service skills and commercial instinct

Demonstrated ability to work in rapidly changing startup environment
Our environment

50% travel is expected. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to customer and other client locations.

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses, to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
