Job Description
What we need
The Transportation & Import/Export Manager will lead and optimize transportation and import/export operations to support a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. The position will be responsible for developing and executing scalable logistics strategies that ensure efficient, cost-effective movement of goods across domestic and international borders.
What we do
Our global sourcing, procurement and third-party supplier team develop innovative category management strategies in collaboration with the business. The team focuses on strategic third-party partner agreements and help support supplier relationship management, commercial and financial pricing models for overall supplier performance.
What you’ll do

Develop and implement transportation strategies aligned with business growth, service levels, and customer delivery expectations.

Oversee domestic and international freight operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective performance.

Collaborate cross-functionally to align transportation plans with production schedules, project timelines, and inventory goals.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement.

Standardize logistics processes to support scalability and operational excellence.

Advance sustainability goals by promoting eco-efficient transportation solutions and reducing carbon emissions.

Manage daily international and cross-border shipments, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations.

Direct relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and warehouse partners.

Oversee import/export documentation and standardize procedures for U.S., Canada, and Mexico operations.

Ensure compliance with all applicable trade laws and documentation standards.

Manage departmental budgets, freight billing accuracy, and performance metrics.

Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.

Use data and analytics to optimize mode selection, routing, and carrier performance.

Evaluate insurance and risk management strategies to safeguard logistics operations.
What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.

Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or import/export, ideally within manufacturing or automation.

Proven success managing third-party logistics providers and customs brokers.

Strong knowledge of trade compliance, HTS/ECCN classification, and Incoterms.

Experience supporting project-based or capital equipment shipments preferred.

Proficiency in ERP and TMS platforms (SAP experience a plus).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Spanish language proficiency is an asset.
Our Environment

Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
