What we need

Symbotic is seeking an Automation Video Analyst. Your primary role will be to uncover and analyze the largest losses in our automation system. Your primary responsibility will be to review relevant video feeds to determine the largest losses occurring at a site, the root cause behind these losses, and to identify key actions to mitigate these losses moving forward. You are required to employ analytical thought processes and methodologies to ultimately improve overall system performance. This includes system performance analysis, complex problem solving, defining processes and procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze defects and develop solutions.

What we do

The Customer Success team is part of our Customer Operations Success organization which partners directly with our customers and cross functional business units to identify and assist in prioritization of key initiatives. You will provide a service to the broader organization by determining key product and process cross-functional opportunities and driving them to closure when required. The team drives cross-functional programmatic workstreams lead by technical resources while establishing key organizational metrics and thresholds to deliver results.

What you’ll do

  • Investigate and analyze video data to identify the largest losses in the automation system.

  • Determine the root causes of identified losses and understand how they occurred.

  • Leverage expertise in connecting to the camera system, retrieving relevant footage, and analyzing video data.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to collaboratively address and mitigate identified losses.

  • Provide insights and recommendations for system enhancements to minimize future losses.

  • Maintain detailed records of loss analyses, root cause investigations, and recommended improvements.

  • Leading system performance analysis in support of improving system rate and availability.

  • Identifying and documenting system defects to ensure improvement actions.

  • Communicating and collaborating with technical and development teams to develop system defect solutions.

  • Enter and update tickets via Jira, stakeholders via email threads, or commentary on Confluence.

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.

  • Driving and maintaining a professional teamwork environment and being an excellent team. player while working with various members of the engineering and on-site teams.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 1 year work experience involving analysis, engineering, or technical system testing desired.

  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SQL, Windows, Linux, PowerShell, or Python is a plus; robotic automation experience desired.

  • Self-starter individuals ready to take on increased amounts of responsibility in an extremely fast paced role.

  • A willingness to learn a deeper level of knowledge of all aspects of a complex system.

  • Excellent team player, able to work professionally with members of various engineering teams

  • Ability to work in rapidly changing startup environment.

Our Environment

  • Remote, field-based position.

  • Travel is required up to 25% of the time. Employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • The employee is responsible to own a credit card and manage expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Our headquarters are in Wilmington, MA. The person taking this position may be required to perform work at our customer site's locations, as well as have an occasional presence at HQ.

  • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.

  • The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

  • The employee must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.

  • The work environment while onsite is considered a construction site where PPE will be required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).

  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. The employee may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure and will be regularly near railings that are high off the ground.

  • The work environment is subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
