Maven has assembled a world-class team from Google, Meta, Amazon, and Stripe, and is supported by executives & Advisors from OpenAI, Google, HubSpot, and Stripe.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Engineering, Platform to lead the strategy, execution, and growth of our platform team. This team is responsible for the core infrastructure, developer experience, scalability, and reliability of our AI-driven applications. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this role will play a critical part in defining and implementing the platform strategy to support the company’s ambitious growth goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage the platform engineering team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Define and execute the platform roadmap to ensure scalability, reliability, and security across all of Maven AGI’s products.
- Own the architecture, development, and maintenance of the core infrastructure, including cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and security frameworks.
- Drive initiatives that improve developer productivity and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with product engineering, data, and security teams to ensure seamless integrations and alignment with company objectives.
- Scale the team by recruiting, mentoring, and developing top engineering talent.
- Implement best practices for system design, observability, performance optimization, and incident management.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a cutting-edge platform.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in engineering leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing and scaling platform, infrastructure, or DevOps teams in a high-growth, cloud-native environment.
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Kubernetes, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of security, networking, and observability best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi), and site reliability engineering (SRE) principles.
- Track record of delivering highly available, scalable, and secure platforms.
- Passion for mentorship, team growth, and fostering an inclusive engineering culture.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
