The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
We are currently seeking a dynamic and data-driven Senior User Researcher to join our Experience Research team focusing on our Personal Lines Sales or Small Commercial user experiences. You will play a key role in shaping our sales or small commercial user experiences and translating insights into tangible impact. As part of the U.S. Retail Markets division, our Experience Research team is dedicated to designing, transforming, and delivering user-centric, efficient, and effective digital-first experiences for our diverse range of stakeholders. Working alongside a blend of user and market researchers, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including UX, Product, Process, and Technology to advocate for the user while aligning with business objectives. Our overarching mission is to gain unparalleled insights into our customers, agents, and employees, empowering us to drive strategic decision-making, develop innovative strategies, and maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
You’ll lead exciting new research projects designed to identify the needs and behaviors of our users so that we can build best in class experiences for them. You will leverage your deep expertise in user research methods (e.g., usability testing, online surveys, interviews, card sorts, etc.) and Design Thinking and Lean UX methodologies. You will interpret, synthesize, and communicate complex research results in a way to empower business decisions and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Plans and conducts user research activities (for example, usability testing, online surveys, and customer interviews) and translates findings into actionable customer insights that inform product development and optimization
- Contributes to the product development process, including discovery, identifying customer needs, ideation, testing and continuously gathering customer feedback throughout the entire product development process
- Plans and facilitates design thinking workshops and activities including problem statement creation, alignment on goals, persona development, and journey-mapping
- Leads objective setting discussions and creates clear research roadmaps for software product development teams
- Contributes to the development of functional strategy and future direction
- Recommends the right research method to employ for the hypothesis or business problem at hand in order to deliver relevant and actionable learnings (for example, usability testing, online surveys, interviews, contextual inquiry, focus groups
- Contributes to expert reviews and heuristic evaluations to identify opportunities within the user interface to improve usability and/or accessibility according to industry standards and best practices
- Communicates clear, concise, and objective research findings that focus on actionable insights
- Works collaboratively, seeking constructive feedback and integrating feedback to improve research expertise
Qualifications
- Bachelor`s degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Information Design or related field and minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Master`s degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Information Design or related field with 0-2 years of related experience
- Or equivalent work experience
- Experience applying (in a business setting) user research methods (eg) usability testing, online surveys, interviews, contextual inquiry, focus groups) and methodologies, such as Design Thinking and Lean UX
