The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

The US Regional Functions Cross-Domain team within US Retail Market Data Office is seeking a Senior Data Solutions Analyst focusing on delivering best in class data & reporting solutions and insights for a range of stakeholders within our Compliance and Legal Organizations.

As a member of this cross-functional group, you’ll collaborate with teams across Liberty Mutual to deliver analysis that unlocks insights and sparks new, better ways of working.

Ensuring that data is a competitive differentiator for our enterprise, the US Retail Market Data Office sets strategic data product visions, governs data for quality and compliance, develops best in class data and reporting solutions, and continuously seeks to optimize the value that data creates for our customers and company. Our team includes data analysts, data stewards, data strategists, and data product owners; performance-driven individuals who make sure that data is appropriately leveraged across every layer of our business.

In addition to the responsibilities below, you will:

  • Build and maintain data solutions and reporting to meet the needs of our stakeholders
  • Ensure data solutions use the most appropriate tools and technology and can be scaled
  • Collaborate with peers to share best practices, ensure use of consistent tools & techniques, and reduce redundancies & lower value work
  • Effectively balance tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting/competing priorities in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Communicate with a variety of people within the Data Office, Data Analytics & Engineering, and business partners (primarily Compliance, Finance, and Legal). Engage with peers and stakeholders to understand current state challenges, identify requirements, and come to agreement on plans. As necessary, develop messages to share best practices and release notes for data assets. Adapt communication style appropriately to share project results, opportunities, and successes with Business and/ or Technical Leaders.

Responsibilities

    • Under limited direction, prototypes/develops data solutions of high complexity to meet the needs of the organization and business customers.
  • Designs proof-of-concept solutions utilizing an advanced understanding of multiple coding languages to meet technical and business requirements, with an ability to perform iterative solution testing to ensure specifications are met.
  • Acts as a technical guide and mentor for lower level associates.
  • Designs and develops data solutions that enables effective self-service data consumption, and can describe their value to the customer.
  • Prioritize efforts based on customer value.
  • Can set expectations for deliverables of high complexity.
  • Maintains proof-of-concepts and prototype data solutions, and handles any assessment of their viability and scalability, with own team or in partnership with IT.
  • Ensures data solutions include deliverables required to achieve high quality data.
  • Display a basic understanding of complex multi-tier, multi-platform systems, an applies principles of metadata, lineage, business definitions, compliance, and data security to project work.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of new technologies as needed to progress initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, data sciences, computer sciences, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience including data, coding, and/or analytics
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills in coding languages & business intelligence tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Snowflake, Python, PowerBI) and interest in expanding knowledge in this space
  • Product and industry knowledge relevant to personal lines insurance operations
  • Growth mindset, curiosity and willingness to learn new areas of our business
