Liberty Mutual’s Global Brand & Communications organization is focused on building, stewarding, and protecting our brand and reputation and helping colleagues feel inspired, connected and informed on the company’s strategy. The Senior Consultant, Enterprise Communications, partners with senior leaders in our Global Risk Solutions business to plan, develop and execute insights-driven communications programs that help keep Global Risk Solutions (GRS) colleagues informed on the business unit’s strategy and the execution efforts that bring the strategy to life.
The person in this role will confidently prepare and execute communications that are large and/or complex in scope, delivered on-message in partnership with other team members in Global Risk Solutions and the enterprise communications team. This role is part of a co-reporting structure between GRS Business Alignment and Global Brand and Communications, providing a unique opportunity to learn and grow.
Responsibilities:
- Support a holistic GRS communications strategy and apply that framework to execute communications plans and/or tactics for aligned business partners. This is done in partnership with GRS & GB&C leadership teams to bring colleagues along the change journey, amplify messages, increase transparency, build followership and contribute to employee engagement.
- Develops understanding of various business segments and functions, demonstrates cultural dexterity and willingness to learn.
- May participate in leadership discussions and leverages business knowledge to identify communications priorities, while consulting on strategies of their aligned leaders.
- Maintains the content calendar for internal GRS clients and reconciles planned communications with enterprise-wide communications.
- Recommends internal communications solutions to open ended business challenges. Influences outcomes with autonomy. Demonstrates inclusive leadership, global dexterity and works effectively in a team environment.
- Proactively works with other communications team members, around the globe, in GRS Business Alignment, PR, social, brand and creative to develop campaigns and content that are distributed across internal and external channels. Socializes this integrated way of working across the organization.
- Evaluates communications plan effectiveness using appropriate success metrics. Adjusts plans based on employee and management feedback and recommends future optimizations.
- Has accountability for delivering large and/or complex internal communications plans, campaigns or projects on time and on budget.
- Performs project management duties to include planning, tracking deliverables, and interfacing across internal stakeholder groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Communications, English or Journalism) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7-8 years of relevant and progressively increased communications responsibilities, with an emphasis on integrated communications.
- Prior experience at a communications consulting firm or other Fortune 500 companies is preferred.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience and ability to move complex projects through a global organization.
- Displays business acumen, integrated thinking and strong consultative skills as demonstrated by prior communications support.
- Superior writing skills for different mediums and strong verbal communication skills.
- Uses data insights to think through strategic plans on how to improve, enhance or innovate future communications. Continuously improving and finding opportunities to measure communication effectiveness.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
