The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

As a member of this cross-functional group, you’ll collaborate with teams across Liberty Mutual to deliver analysis that unlocks insights and sparks new, better ways of working.

The Independent Agent Distribution (IAD) analytics organization within US Retail Markets (USRM) Insights & Solutions is actively searching for a highly motivated individual to join the team. This position will be focused on analyzing data to provide leaders in the IAD organization with insights and recommendations to drive key business decisions with a near-term focus primarily in the Commercial Lines space. The ideal candidate will possess technical skills to procure and manipulate data, critical thinking and analytical skills to identify trends and draw conclusions through data analysis, and communication/influencing skills to articulate those conclusions and provide recommendations. In this role, you will:

  • Answer complex questions by synthesizing and analyzing data from diverse sources
  • Present findings / recommendations which impact profitability, growth, and/or customer satisfaction
  • Lead discussions with business partners focused on presenting analysis, insights, and recommendations
  • Manage low to moderately complex projects, while providing technical and analytical assessments of issues facing the business
  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques to solve business problems
  • Potentially utilize, update, and adapt predictive modeling tools and/or focus on the application of predictive modeling tools
  • Potentially develop analytical tools used by others to do their jobs more effectively and guide decision-making

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong technical aptitude with proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, PowerBI, and data analysis software (e.g. Snowflake, SAS, SQL, etc.)
  • Be comfortable navigating ambiguity and establishing new data processes and business relationships to support the continuous improvement of IAD analytics and insights
  • Be proactive, autonomous, and willing to influence others

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum 3 years, typically 4 or more years of experience, or equivalent, is required.
  • Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field are preferred fields of study.
  • Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical principles and methodologies, and techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization, etc.), PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (SAS, Emblem).
  • Must have good planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills. Solid understanding of business to improve business outcomes.
