The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
As the Operational Excellence Leader, you will provide expert support to L1/ L2/L3 business leaders (executives) in evolving the management system and identifying, prioritizing and scoping opportunities that drive cross-functional end-to-end process excellence with notable impact on key performance indicators and business results. Serve as the product owner for assigned services and assumes accountability for the successful delivery across all business units and functions to advance distinct LEAN practices across the organization. Manage, lead and coach a team of process improvement resources to ensure flawless execution and ongoing capability building.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute engagement strategies for assigned business segments and clients.
- Demonstrate the values, principles and techniques of lean by collaborating with leaders to identify and execute engagement opportunities.
- Cultivate demand and negotiate joint accountability for ROI on all engagements.
- Outline execution approaches that deliver sustainable, predictable and repeatable results.
- Ensure engagements align to strategic business imperatives and deliver targeted improvements in customer experience, employee engagement, and business performance
- Take an enterprise view and recognize cross-purpose metrics that compromise effectiveness of the overall end-to-end-value stream.
- Lead maturity assessments, and coach leaders on how to evolve the management system to create a positive climate.
- Lead Strategy Alignment process and deliver a structure for execution transparency and progress measurements at all levels of the organization.
- Lead collaboration with Talent Advisors on coaching in leading in the Management System 1
- Champion Practice and Knowledge Sharing across businesses represents department in external business meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor`s degree with majors in engineering, science, operations or business; MBA preferred
- 12+ years of career progression in high-velocity business environments, including service industry, with leadership roles in operations, finance and/or customer facing functions, and P&L or cost center ownership
- 5+ years implementing successful continuous improvement programs based on lean principles, processes and tools
- Superior leadership skills and ability to facilitate effective cross-cultural business inter-action
- Broad knowledge of multi-functional, multi-site, 500+ employee, global organizational processes
- Min 5 years of service industry experience
- Insurance industry experience a plus
- Consulting experience a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to transform an organization`s culture through leadership styles and behaviors, and through process and metrics driven performance
- Demonstrated mastery of business operations and applied lean principles, practices and tool
- A holistic thinker who can look enterprise wide to integrate processes for optimal benefit
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with and positively influence leadership at all levels of the organization
- Change Management experience
- Strong business acumen and ability to participate in strategic business discussion with executives
