The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Join the Business Agility organization within Global Risk Solutions!

We are seeking a dynamic, people-first leader to join the Policy Servicing Portfolio within the Underwriting Domain. This portfolio serves the majority of GRS’ business segments and spans a diverse ecosystem of Policy Administration systems and offerings, both legacy and modern. We support business capabilities across the insurance lifecycle with a primary focus on Post-Bind Transactions (e.g., new business booking) and Policy Financials (e.g., premium allocation). As the manager of Product Owners, you will play a critical role in shaping the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our product offerings. Your focus will be on ensuring that we make the right investments at the right time, driving results that create significant value for our customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Development: Directly manage and mentor a team of five Product Owners, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement throughout the customer journey and product lifecycle.
  • Strategic Vision and Execution: Demonstrate a strong product mindset by driving initiatives that solve real problems, enhance user experience, and create measurable outcomes. Develop and communicate clear product visions and translate them into actionable roadmaps.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business, Technology, and Business Agility to align priorities, remove roadblocks, and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Delivery Management: Oversee the delivery of project scope, working closely with delivery teams to ensure the creation of clear user stories and quick resolution of queries. Serve as the voice of the user, ensuring that their needs are central to product decisions.
  • Analytical Leadership: Lead thorough analyses of feasibility, cost implications, and the benefits and trade-offs of potential programs. Use data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Success Measurement: Establish and track Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor product health and drive informed decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Act as a bridge between the business and Technology, ensuring alignment on strategic goals and priorities.
  • Hands-On Involvement: When necessary, step in as the Product Owner for a squad, providing hands-on leadership and guidance.

*The preferred location for the selected candidate is within a 50 mile radius of either Portsmouth, NH, Seattle, WA, Boston, MA, or Plano, TX. We will consider remote employees*

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.) and a minimum of 7 years` experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting
  • Master`s degree preferred
  • High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts
  • Technical proficiency required to participate in sprint planning and have an informed, independent voice
  • Strong influencing skills in order to be seen as the decision maker when interfacing with business, and willingness to dissent with both teams and business
  • Proven experience with Agile practices and expectations
  • Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
