Overview

GRS North America Claims is seeking a highly motivated analytics leader to join our Claims Enablement team. This role manages a team of Business Analysts conducting more complex operational reporting and analysis and will be responsible for translating Claims data & insights into actionable analysis for our Underwriting (UW) segments. The role will be focused on our Property, Marine, and Shared Services lines of business, and will work with partners with Claims and outside of Claims to build a backlog of business questions that Claims analytics can inform through special project analysis in addition to responsibilities for standard operational health and performance insights. The work that this person does will ideally have immediate and lasting impact on Underwriting strategy and actions to drive improvement to profitability.

You will be required to go into the office twice a month if you reside within 50 miles of one of the following offices: Boston, MA; Westborough, MA; Indianapolis, IN; Lake Oswego, OR; Las Vegas, NV; Plano, TX; Suwanee, GA; Chandler, AZ; or Weatogue, CT. Please note this policy is subject to change.

This position may be filled as a Manager II, Business Analysis or Director, Business Analysis. We are open to fill this position depending on related professional skills and experience. The salary range posted reflects the range for the varying pay scale that encompasses each of the Liberty Mutual US regions, and the overall cost of living for that region.

Responsibilities

  • Manages more complex analyses conducted based on operational, economic and/or financial data in order to quantify the competitive performance of business segments, evaluate potential operational changes, and/or design new approaches and methodologies.
  • Working with Claims Enablement Strategy Directors, Claims Field Leaders, and UW partners to identify critical business questions that would value from deep Claims analysis and prioritize work based on expected impact of analysis.
  • Set standards of what “great” Claims/UW analytical work looks like to ensure maximum impact of insights delivered.
  • Develop deep expertise of Claims data gained through understanding of the history of our business mix, operational and organizational strategy, and environmental factors impacting the Casualty lines.
  • Communicate with senior leadership and audiences of varying size, level, and exposure to drive collective and organizationally aligned action.
  • Effectively build content that translates analysis into insights for audiences with varying levels of technical experience. Craft presentations that clearly articulate findings, insights, and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain high performing talent of the team.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, software applications, and business drivers.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial and analytic acumen
  • Creative thinker, intellectually curious, comfortable with data, willingness to operate in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Understanding of Claims processes and Operations preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in analytical or finance roles

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
