Join US Retail Market’s Small Commercial (SC) Risk Analytics Top Line team as a Consultant, Advanced Analytics! In this role, you’ll be conducting analytical research into the overall top-line health of the Small Commercial organization with a specific emphasis on new business. Partnering across teams within Risk Analytics, SC Product, Insights & Solutions, and Distribution, you will develop and implement methodologies for understanding new business rates and elasticities, advance the science of new business planning & forecasting capabilities, and ensure we are growing in the right ways to maintain long-term profitability.

**This role may have in-office requirements dependent upon candidate location.**

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, socialize, and execute methodologies for producing new business rate and elasticity metrics.
  • Develop roadmap for advancing new business planning & forecasting sophistication. Provide quarterly updates to new business planning inputs with detailed exhibits and artifacts outlining logic for selection.
  • Develop and implement process for regular monitoring of key new business top line metrics with underlying diagnostic datasets for deeper research into trends.
  • Research industry trends, competitor actions, and internal data to continuously improve our portfolio performance.
  • Translate quantitative analyses and findings into accessible visuals for non-technical audiences, providing a clear view into interpreting the data to optimize decision making.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong working experience inside Property & Casualty Insurance; Small Commercial experience desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of new business funnel metrics and ratios with proven track record of applying analytical insights to drive funnel efficiency.
  • Strong research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to query and navigate complex datasets using tools like SAS, Snowflake, SQL, or Python.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum 5 years, typically 7 or more years, of related experience required; Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field are preferred fields of study.
  • Master’s Degree preferred; advanced education may be substituted for years of experience (Ph.D. with no professional experience).
  • Deep knowledge of data sources, tools and business drivers.
  • Ability to apply advanced analytical concepts to improve business outcomes.
  • Ability to build analytic tools that will be used by business teams to analyze results and opportunities.
  • Advanced proficiency in big data software packages (SAS, SQL, Snowflake, Python), Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization), and PowerPoint.
  • Must have good planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills.
  • Ability to present data, visually and verbally, to guide conversations with business managers.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
