The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

We are currently seeking a talented software configuration specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for configuring low to medium complexity applications based on general specifications, as well as modifying, testing, and enhancing existing programs to meet our clients’ needs.

You will have the opportunity to analyze business processes, identify functional and technical requirements, and develop innovative solutions to bridge any gaps we encounter. We value strong problem-solving skills and effective communication, as you’ll be consulting on technical issues and collaborating with various stakeholders.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in reinsurance systems, as well as proficiency in tools like Power BI and DB Visualizer. A solid understanding agile methodologies will also be highly beneficial.

Under general supervision, configures low to medium complexity applications and software from general specifications. Modifies, tests, debugs maintains, and enhance existing programs. Transform client requests into general software requirements. Consults on moderately complex technical problems and provides solutions.

Responsibilities

Execute moderately complex components of configuring a single module according to defined design specs & demonstrates proficient understanding of transactions and major configuration options for a business process. Analyzes and prepare moderate to complex technology enabled recommendations to address gaps within a single business process. Identifies moderate to complex functional and technical requirements (e.g., gap analysis, infrastructure, interfaces, reports, enhancements, and/or conversions). Develops moderate to complex test scripts. Identifies and researches moderate to complex testing defects. Supports pieces of the implementation process such as post implementation support, cutover plans, and transition planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience
  • Generally 3+ years of professional experience
  • Experience with reinsurance systems, contracts, accounting, and knowledge of reinsurance calculations preferred
  • Proficiency in DB Visualizer and Power BI preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills
  • Proficient in negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills
  • Understanding of agile software development concepts and processes Must be proactive and demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker
  • Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements
  • Thorough understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery
  • Collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required
