The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

We have a great opportunity at GRS North America Claims Strategic Planning & Analytics for an analyst to join our Workers’ Compensation Analytics team. In this role, you’ll play an instrumental part in developing insights and key performance indicators to support the Workers’ Compensation organization.

We’re looking for a skilled analyst with excellent analytical abilities and strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with complex data, possess excellent analytic skills, and have the ability to prioritize and manage both low- and high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration is key, as there are opportunities to work closely with our actuarial partners, the WC leadership team, customer account teams, and Underwriting to achieve shared goals.

This is a remote position; however, candidates residing within 50 miles of a GRS claims office will be required to work onsite twice a month. Ideal candidates are located within 50 miles of Boston, MA. Please note that this policy is subject to change.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze internal claims data, industry trends, and medical regulation information to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and insights using descriptive analytics. Often use Power BI to create data visualizations that enhance business insights.
  • Perform complex research and analysis using various tools and data sources (SAS, Denodo, Power BI), which may include operational data, metrics, competitor information, and feedback from business partners.
  • Monitor and report on trends in a suite of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), collaborating with stakeholders to identify the root causes of shifts and propose courses of action.
  • Own stakeholder relationships by developing appropriate tools and analyses to meet their needs, collaborating on significant findings, and becoming a subject matter expert on their data.
  • Participate in a culture of continuous improvement by actively sharing new findings and tools, as well as discussing roadblocks and challenges.
  • Show interest in answering complex, ambiguous medical questions by using critical thinking, problem-solving, and data to strategically provide answers, including insights and recommendations as appropriate.
  • Tailor data stories to various audiences, demonstrating recognition of which content to include and how to present it.
  • Exhibit a team mentality—most projects require multiple team members, perspectives, and subtasks. Must be able to work with teammates to strategically divide work, connect findings, identify gaps, and build a cohesive story.
  • Handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously. Demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills.

Qualifications

  • Displays effective research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Solid business operations knowledge to include understanding the function’s value chain and market conditions.
  • Ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
  • Solid project management skills as part of implementing business process changes. Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of available data sources, strengths and shortcomings. Solid knowledge of database software preferred.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools preferred.
  • Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 2+ years of relevant experience to include business analysis work.
