The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Come join the Business Agility organization within Global Risk Solutions in digital product supporting the Distribution portfolio! We are looking bring on an Associate Product Owner (PO) to contribute to the Client & Partner Experience (CAPE) portfolio. This PO will support both internally and externally facing applications and help transform our risk management information systems, which are a critical to creating best-in-class experiences for Liberty Mutual’s commercial insurance customers.

As a member of the CAPE train, you would help represent the voice of the customer and the organization through the delivery of business value. You would work closely with stakeholders (business and technology) to define and prioritize features and stories, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals. You would be the voice of the customer and ensure problems are clearly defined, prioritized and the squad/team is focused on the most valuable work. From there, you would collaborate with squads/teams, technologies and architects across portfolios to develop a deep understanding of the technologies and systems they support.

Responsibilities:

  • With guidance from a Product Owner, support the communication of and alignment to the product vision.
  • May also contribute to the definition of the product vision.
  • Supports the use of product level KPIs to drive product decisions.
  • Assists in collecting KPI data and/or reinforcing their use in product decisions.
  • Supports creating and maintaining the backlog (including prioritization, and acceptance criteria).
  • Contributes to squad/team quarterly planning and sets expectations for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
  • Participates in squad/team demos, retrospectives, and all other ceremonies.
  • With guidance, works daily with the Agile working group, clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating, and supporting alignment around product strategy.
  • With a guidance from the Product Owner, monitors and maintains the product health, supporting long-term product viability and efficiency.
  • May analyze feasibility, cost of delay ramifications, economies, and other aspects of planned or potential changes to the product.
  • Conducts research into regulatory, compliance and other industry constraints on the product.
  • Negotiates with squads/teams within the portfolio to ensure priorities are aligned during a sprint.
  • With guidance, supports building the product roadmap at the squad/team level based on strategy and ongoing input from stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc
  • 3 years of experience in business, technology, or consulting with a minimum of 1 year direct experience with agile teams
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships and able to influence others and build consensus with cogent arguments
  • Experience communicating moderate to complex ideas, issues and designs
  • Ability to operate with incomplete information and make timely decisions
  • Problem solver with ability to lead a team
  • Experimental mindset with demonstrated willingness to learn and experiment
