This role has a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite) for candidates based in Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, Plano, TX, Indianapolis, IN.

Job Introduction:

The Data Office organization is looking to hire an Assistant Director, SAS Viya, to their team. This candidate will act as a SAS Platform Steward, who will play a crucial role in enabling and supporting our SAS platform users. You will be responsible for understanding user needs and providing guidance on platform utilization while ensuring that our SAS content is managed and governed effectively. You will act as the primary point of contact for users encountering issues, facilitate the escalation of technical problems to IT, and ensure that all content adheres to governance and compliance standards.

You will partner with internal business owners and users to understand business objectives, pain points and design product requirements. You will also collaborate with engineering teams to build capabilities that best leverage the right technology to meet business objectives and deliver value. This role will be responsible for simplification of our SAS solutions and footprint by matching the right personas with the appropriate tools/solutions. This role will also be responsible for launching new technical solutions and tools to enable business partners to achieve speed to market data. This role requires having knowledge of data infrastructure, access methodologies, and SAS processes required to drive insights through products and solutions.

About the job:

  • Understand and analyze user needs related to the SAS platform and its content.
  • Optimize content and provide analysis and recommendations to enhance platform performance.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for users, assisting them in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to IT teams on behalf of users.
  • Ensure that SAS content is responsibly managed, governed, and compliant with industry standards and internal policies.
  • Conduct performance analysis of SAS content to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee user access and ensure proper protocols are followed for data security and privacy.
  • Manage and support process orchestration for SAS applications and workflows.
  • Address and remediate any governance and compliance findings, ensuring continuous adherence to best practices.
  • Participate in or facilitate USRM Analytics Center Of Excellence.
  • Contribute towards the framing and evolution of our Platform Stewardship Model inclusive of collaborations, documentation, and communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. MBA or advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative disciplines strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7+ years of SAS experience with focus on SAS Viya.
  • Proven experience as a SAS developer, with strong knowledge of SAS programming languages.
  • Demonstrated expertise in SAS content performance analysis and optimization.
  • Knowledge of content governance and compliance frameworks relevant to data analytics.
  • Experience in process orchestration and managing workflows within the SAS platform.
  • Experience with user access management and database connections within SAS environments.
  • Relevant certifications in SAS or data governance/compliance.
  • Previous experience in a user support or enablement role.
