The Regional Vice President of Sales at Liaison is a crucial position responsible for overseeing and leading part of the Associate Vice Presidents who are responsible for salesThe role involves strategizing, developing, and executing sales plans with the VP and initiatives to drive growth and establish a strong presence in the market. You will directly manage 6 Associate Vice Presidents who are responsible for either graduate or undergraduate salesThe successful incumbent will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the education sector, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of driving sales growth and customer satisfaction. The right candidate will have experience partnering with other executive leaders, particularly Vice President, Marketing, Chief Product Officer, Chief Financial Officer as well as other members of leadership and staff. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with Vice President of Sales to develop, coach and mentor the AVPs, working towards a comprehensive sales strategy for the undergraduate and graduate market aligned with the Liaison’s overall goals and objectives. 
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation. 
  • Recruit, coach, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales individuals, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to achieve targets. 
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to sales leadership to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Provide insight and feedback for sales targets and goals, both short-term and long-term, in collaboration with the executive team. 
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance data for team, adjusting strategies with Vice President as needed to meet or exceed revenue objectives. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, educational institutions, and other stakeholders. 
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and address any concerns or issues promptly and effectively.  
  • Stay informed about the Liaison’s products and services, as well as the latest trends and advancements in education technology. 
  • Utilize this knowledge to tailor sales approaches, proposals, and presentations to meet customer needs and expectations.  
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and customer support, to align strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to customer engagement. 
  • Assist the VP with managing the sales budget, including expenses related to sales activities, events, travel, and other necessary expenditures. 
  • Optimize resource allocation to maximize ROI and achieve cost-efficiency. 
  • Prepare regular sales reports and updates to the VP. 
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and refine sales strategies with VP. 
  • Ensure that the sales team operates in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, including adherence to company policies and industry regulations. 

 

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in sales leadership and achieving revenue targets within the education technology sector. 
  • Strong understanding of education technology products, industry trends, and the competitive landscape. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to enhance sales strategies. 
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing sales teams. 
  • Ability to travel regularly, about 60-70%, nationally. 
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales goals 
  • Experience in the traditional not-for-profit higher education industry, admissions or enrollment management is highly desired, with a particular focus on the graduate level. 
  • Proficient with Technology Basics, PowerPoint, Salesforce.com, and Microsoft Office solutions. 
  • Must have demonstrated ability and skills to work effectively in a remote environment with a dedicated office within the home. 

 

This position is eligible for a competitive base salary plus a commission structure based on sales performance.

The base salary range for this role is listed below. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
