Job Description

At Liaison, we’ve helped higher education institutions build better, more diverse classes for three decades. You may recognize us as the company behind the Centralized Application Service (CAS), Enrollment Marketing services and platform (EMP), SlideRoom, Time2Track, TargetX (CRM) and Othot.

Everything we do is focused on taking that proven success and expanding its scope and scale. Over 31,000 programs on more than 1,000 campuses see us as a forward-thinking partner integral to meeting their total enrollment goals — and we’re building the data- and mission-driven team that will reinforce our role for decades to come.

The Associate Copywriter is responsible for producing clear, compelling, and on-brand written content across digital and print marketing channels in support of enrollment and marketing initiatives. This is a junior-level role focused on execution, skill development, and learning how to translate creative strategy and direction into high-quality copy.

The Associate Copywriter works closely with creative strategy, design, and campaign teams and receives regular guidance and feedback from senior creative leaders. This role is ideal for an early-career writer looking to build experience in agency workflows, audience-driven messaging, and performance-informed content.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce copy across digital and print channels, including ads, emails, landing pages, websites, and campaign assets, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Write for multiple agency clients, adapting voice, tone, and messaging to align with established brand guidelines and target audiences.
  • Apply provided messaging frameworks, brand voice standards, and creative direction consistently across assignments.
  • Manage assigned tasks and deliverables according to established timelines, workflows, and project priorities.
  • Revise and refine copy based on feedback from creative leadership, stakeholders, and performance insights.
  • Ensure copy meets quality, accuracy, compliance, and brand standards prior to delivery.
  • Maintain version control and supporting documentation for assigned projects and revisions.
  • Support creative testing efforts by drafting copy variants and alternative messaging approaches.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to support ideation, drafting, and versioning while maintaining quality and editorial standards.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–2 years of professional writing or copywriting experience, including internships, agency roles, or in-house marketing positions.
  • Strong foundational writing and editing skills with attention to clarity, grammar, tone, and audience.
  • Ability to adapt writing style across different brands, audiences, and marketing channels with guidance.
  • Comfortable managing multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Receptive to feedback and able to apply revisions efficiently and thoughtfully.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Interest in higher education marketing, storytelling, and performance-driven content.
  • Willingness to learn and use AI tools as part of modern copywriting workflows.
