Klaviyo is seeking a Head of International Treasury to join our Treasury Team to develop the global multi-currency and payments strategy and capabilities, with the ultimate goal of optimizing the currencies bill and invoice our customers, and how they remit payment. This role will partner closely with xFunctional teams, such as Product, Engineering, Finance, Customer Success and Sales. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to develop and influence strategic direction, and knowledge of the inner workings of billing platforms, multi-currency optimization, foreign exchange hedging, international payments schemes, card and partnering with global acquirers. This is a newly created unique role and reports to the VP, Treasury, Payroll & GTM-Comp.

How You will Make a Difference: 

  • Develop and design Klaviyo’s global multi-currency and payments strategy, operations and expansion, including compliance with regulatory requirements, product development, and partner commercial terms while simultaneously allowing the business to make decisions and effect change within the billings and payments function;
  • Understand, assess and own foreign-exchange implications, including proposing appropriate hedging strategies, if warranted; 
  • Provide thought-leadership and best practices on currency offerings and payments efficiencies aligned with international expansion, cost rationalization initiatives and an improved customer experience;
  • Be an integral partner to the product and engineering teams to help design and deliver compliant billing and payment solutions; 
  • Be the voice of Finance to external vendors in negotiations, sharing business requirements and providing continual feedback; 
  • Research issues, support payment acceptance processes, identify root causes, and drive internal and external partners to maximize cost efficiencies and customer experiences. Examples include fraud monitoring, improving auth rates, mitigating avoidable declines, efficient retry logic;
  • Review and communicate the risks associated with accepting various payment types and currencies; benchmark with other SaaS companies to understand the innovative payments landscape; deliver payment solutions to support business initiatives;
  • Develop and maintain a dashboard to measure performance against key metrics, such as, processing costs, approval rates, and chargeback rates; create recommendations and launch enhancements and improvements; manage foreign exchange exposures and considerations that may arise with international expansion;
  • Ability to synthesize complex payment challenges in simple terms, make decisions, set the direction and collaborate with the business to drive improvements;

Who You Are:

  • 7-10 years experience and knowledge of global payments, financial services systems, preferably with experience designing billing and payments solutions at high-growth companies across various currencies;
  • Considerable experience identifying, understanding, and managing international payment legal and regulatory risks;
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a high-velocity environment, meet tight deadlines and act decisively;
  • Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner to provide succinct, practical and results-driven advice;
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and influence a diverse team of stakeholders.

Our salary range reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all our US locations. The base salary offered for this position is determined by several factors, including the applicant’s job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location.

In addition to base salary, our total compensation package may include participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan, variable compensation (OTE) for sales and customer success roles, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility. Base Pay Range For US Locations:
$160,000$240,000 USD
