Thanks for having me. Thrilled to be here. I’m excited to talk to you because we’re going to talk about CloudZero, which if I had a short list of companies in the Boston tech scene that have a very bright future and have a strong potential to be one of the next anchor companies in the Boston tech scene, I would absolutely have CloudZero on that list.

Yeah, absolutely. We’re truly on a rocket ship ride. It’s a ton of fun. We are at about 170-person startup SaaS company. We’re based in Boston, Massachusetts, and we are in the FinOps industry, otherwise known as the cloud optimization space. We help various companies, various industries and sizes, selling into specifically engineering and finance personas, help save on their cloud spend. Simple as that. We use the power of AI and real-time insights to provide engineers and finance individuals the accountability and power to find and detect anomalies in their cloud spend as they continue to innovate in their respective organizations. And so we really just empower those individuals to help save the company money. We have plenty of use cases out there of our customer success team partnering with organizations on literally saving organizations millions of dollars on their cloud spend.

Yeah. And it’s just a rapidly growing sector. CloudZero has had lots and lots of news that they’ve reported of late. So what’s the latest with the company?

Latest with the company is we’re certainly growing. We’re certainly on this rocket ship ride. We are hiring in almost every single department right now. We are just at about 170 people globally, predominantly based in the US, and we keep heightening our Boston-based recruitment. So it’s a very exciting time in the Boston area, but also for the company. And we’re going to be at that 200 mark before you know it, quickly going to 250 by next year. So a lot of opportunity for people internally, but also opportunity for those looking for an exciting and rewarding job.

And is that hiring across all functional areas?

Yes. I think with the exception of G&A right now, we have openings in every single department—all of our go-to-market teams, R&D teams, with, of course, tackling those specialized skill sets in AI.

Now, CloudZero recently announced a Series C round of funding, $56 million. So, that’s obviously another milestone and exciting times ahead.

Yes, very much, very much. The team has done an exceptional job in doing that. We have an incredible support system backing us up. And so, yeah, like I said, it’s a wonderful time to join the organization and to make a real impact. And those investments are being utilized in really great ways from product innovation, roadmap advancements, feature adoption, of course, hiring, and really tapping into those specialized skill sets.

Now, what’s it like working at CloudZero? What’s the day-to-day culture like?

The culture, we are a fast-growing startup. So, like any startup, we work hard, but we also play hard. And the connections that we’ve created internally and externally with each other is really meaningful and unique. We create an environment where people can truly do their best work with autonomy, feeling empowered to bring new ideas forth. So innovation is definitely core to how we operate and get work done. And so the environment here is open. It’s exciting. It’s evolving. So if you like a state of transformation and innovation, then CloudZero is certainly for you. Coming to CloudZero and really building the culture and people experience from the ground up has been a lot of fun. And so the more talent that we can bring in that has that right growth mindset, the more meaningful and purposeful the work will be.

So top-tier talent, they always have options for their career. So why should people consider joining CloudZero?

If they want to learn every single day, and I’m not exaggerating, if they want to learn something new every single day, come to CloudZero. If you want to come into an organization, regardless of your level, your focus area, the department you’re in, and want to make a meaningful impact quickly and really feel like you’re contributing to the success of the organization, the growing organization, then you should absolutely come to CloudZero. There aren’t many companies, especially in today’s environment, where employees feel that strong sense of purpose and meaning behind their work and why they do it. And they’re also not feeling the impact that all their hard work is making. And at CloudZero, you feel that impact. And so I think that makes it a very, very special place to work.

Well, as I highlighted in the beginning of our conversation, CloudZero has it all. Great team, great founding team, great executive team, great list of investors, all tier A, and just a rocket ship opportunity to be part of this company. So you need to go to their company page on VentureFizz, which has all their job listings. Go to venturefizz.com/cloudzero and you’ll see their job listings there. Sharon Pollard, thanks so much for taking the time to walk us through all the updates on the company. Thank you for having me.
