Senior Safety Manager
Job Description
What we need
Exol is building a scalable, next-generation fulfillment network where safety, automation, and operational performance must scale together. As the Sr. Safety Manager, you will lead the development, governance, and execution of Exol’s enterprise-wide Safety Program across all sites.
This role is responsible for establishing safety standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, integrating safety into operations and maintenance workflows, and building a culture of accountability that protects employees, assets, and business continuity.

Exol is pioneering fulfillment-as-a-service, offering outsourced warehousing operations and specializing in automated warehousing solutions. Our focus is on the efficient movement of goods in cases and pallets across sectors including CPG, food and beverage, wholesale, and retail.
Exol is an independently managed joint venture between Symbotic and Softbank.
What you'll do

Own and lead Exol’s enterprise Safety Program across all operating sites

Establish and standardize safety policies, procedures, and governance frameworks

Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations

Develop and implement machine safety, LOTO, electrical safety, and automation risk standards

Lead incident investigations and drive permanent corrective actions

Design and deploy enterprise safety training and certification programs

Conduct site audits and close compliance gaps before they create operational exposure

Partner with Operations, Maintenance, HR, and Automation teams to embed safety into daily execution

Oversee contractor and vendor safety compliance standards

Develop and report safety KPIs and leading indicators to executive leadership
What you'll need

Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, industrial management, or related field

Minimum 8 years of progressive safety leadership experience in industrial, logistics, manufacturing, or automated environments, including 3 years leading teams

CSP (Certified Safety Professional) and NFPA 70E competency required.

Electrical safety specialization (CESCP) for automation heavy operations strongly preferred

Demonstrated experience building and scaling enterprise safety programs across multiple sites

Deep understanding of OSHA regulations, machine guarding, LOTO, and industrial risk management

Experience leading incident investigations and root cause analysis

Strong executive communication skills with ability to influence senior leaders

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive accountability

Experience supporting high-automation or robotics environments strongly preferred
Our Environment

Travel could be up to 50% of the time. Employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

Ability to walk/stand for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders, and tolerate warehouse environmental conditions (temperature variations, noise, etc).
