Solaria Labs is Liberty Mutual’s enterprise-wide incubation function within the Enterprise Strategy & Innovation organization. We help the company remain at the forefront of disruption by partnering across the organization and incubating new products, services, and experiences to better serve our customers, clients, and communities today and in the future.
Within Solaria, the Insights & Experimentation Enablement (IE2) team serves as connective tissue across the incubation system. We lead competitor and experience research efforts to provide decision-grade insight to incubation teams, oversee strategic operations for the Lab, and orchestrate enterprise-wide programming to democratize innovation and enable a culture of experimentation. We bring together expertise in innovation, strategy, competitive intelligence, design thinking, and primary research to create programs, systems, and platforms that help the enterprise think differently and innovate boldly.
About the Role
This role plays a critical part in helping Liberty Mutual shape innovation decisions, align enterprise learning, and scale experimentation across the organization. In this role, you will help evolve enterprise innovation culture platforms; support, architect, and facilitate strategic workshops; and contribute to cross-cutting programs that connect strategy, portfolio insights, and executive storytelling.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong business judgment with growing technical and AI fluency, and who is intellectually curious and comfortable learning new domains, particularly at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and emerging capabilities like AI. You can move fluidly between strategic thinking, front-line activation, and program design, and you know how to turn workshops and communities into repeatable platforms that translate insight into action.
What You’ll Do
Strengthen and Scale Enterprise Innovation Culture
- Build and scale a cross-enterprise network of innovation champions that create strategic programming for insight-sharing, foresight, and enterprise learning.
- Partner across the organization to drive enterprise innovation programming including, the Liberty Innovation Challenge (an enterprise-wide ideation program reaching 45,000+ employees), internal / external eminence building, and other related initiatives driving a culture of experimentation and amplifying our reputation as an innovation leader.
Design and Facilitate Strategic Workshops
- Design and facilitate high-impact strategic workshops & working sessions collaborating closely with business stakeholders to:
- Reimagine workflows and identify opportunities to accelerate strategic priorities using emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI) to deliver greater value and increased productivity
- Translate insights into clearly defined use cases for rapid experimentation
- Support and evolve Solaria’s workshop playbooks, archetypes, and facilitation tools, ensuring quality, consistency, and attachment of business context to use cases.
Drive Cross‑Lab Strategic Operations
- Support executive reporting, strategic planning, portfolio insights, and enterprise‑level storytelling.
- Help orchestrate department-wide meetings, cross-teams learning sessions, and team building & engagement opportunities that build a high-performing and unified team culture.
Lead and Support Cross-Cutting Initiatives
- Partner with teammates and leadership on special projects that require structured thinking, stakeholder coordination, and comfort with ambiguity.
- Pilot and refine new tools, frameworks, or practices that make innovation and experimentation more accessible across the enterprise.
- Act as a connector across strategy, insights, innovation, and culture, helping ideas travel further and land more effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 6-8+ years experience of progressive experience in innovation, strategy, transformation, product/portfolio strategy, insights, or organizational design / enablement
- Background in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries preferred
- Demonstrated business acumen, with experience working on problems tied to enterprise strategy, operating models, workflows, or investment decisions.
- Working knowledge of AI, data, and automation (e.g., GenAI use cases, data-driven decisioning, workflow automation), with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business outcomes and risk considerations
- Ability to engage effectively at the intersection of business and technology, including comfort discussing data, platforms, systems, and emerging technologies with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience designing and supporting strategic conversations and structured problem-solving (e.g., workshops, executive working sessions, offsites, or structured forums) that drive clarity, alignment, and next steps.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and project management skills with a system-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication, synthesis, and storytelling skills; highly collaborative and effective at all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication; proven ability to storyboard and craft compelling presentations to various audiences
- Ability to grasp new concepts and adapt to changes and demands in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; proven ability to fulfill ad hoc requests and produce deliverables on time and with high quality
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence others

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
