Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic professional to join our Global Casualty team reporting to the GRS Global Product Leader for Casualty. In this role, you will play a critical role in driving initiatives aimed at strengthening our underwriting culture, capabilities, expertise, and profitability. You will be responsible for contributing to portfolio optimization through analytics, with the support of our actuarial and data science teams. By leveraging the expertise of underwriters and actuaries, you will drive sustainable profitability through the promotion of intentional underwriting practices.
This is a range posting for grades 18-19, depending on candidate’s experience.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a thought partner within the Global Casualty team within the Office of Underwriting
- Contribute to global and local portfolio strategies through experience and analytics
- Influence key strategic decisions related to Casualty such as portfolio design, tolerances, Underwriting guidelines, and capital allocation
- Bring synthesized competitive intelligence and insights on leading indicators to support market cycle assessment and performance benchmarking
- Support Product Planning and associated strategic posturing and adherence to through financial planning and execution
- Work with Casualty Underwriting teams within GRS businesses to identify best practices and translate them into global priorities and strategies that are locally executable
- Assist in shaping the agenda and provide data preparation for Product Board meetings
- Drive cross-functional initiatives though leadership of Board Committees and Global Practice Groups
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field
- Minimum 9, typically 12 years or more of relevant work experience,
- Master’s degree and/or ACAS or similar designation beneficial
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (eg SAS, Access, SQL, Python)
- Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and communication skills
- Experience managing projects preferred
