Manager, Cybersecurity – IAM Business Process & Governance

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
This role is focused on leading a team of Cyber Security Specialists responsible for supporting multiple Practice Areas within IAM, focused on business processes and governance of IAM. The position will be responsible for enhancing IAM governance frameworks and fostering a culture of accountability and transparency, while also aligning policies with standards and processes. The People Leader will collaborate with the aligned Product Owner, Scrum Master and Director to develop the overall BPG strategy and ensure the team is clear on direction and specific work efforts. This role will also execute the People Leader commitments by setting clear goals and expectations, motivating and inspiring high performance and leveraging a diversity of perspectives.
Responsibilities:
- Define and communicate goals and measurements in alignment with a high-performance culture.
- Effectively manage employee performance in accordance with individual, departmental and company goals and objectives.
- Prior experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance roles (e.g., Risk Manager, Risk Analyst, Compliance Manager, Auditor)
- Deep understanding of (State Cyber Laws NYDFS, CCPA, GDPR, NIST CFS, PCI, CIC CSCs) to ensure that all IAM Governance aligns/complies.
- Responsibility to ensure that the team stay informed about current events, security focus areas, and regulatory changes that impact IAM Governance processes.
- Work with peers and IAM Director to develop team direction and strategy to ensure adherence to established controls and consult with cross-functional teams on documented governance documentation.
- Work with the team to evaluate the effectiveness of IT controls, identify compliance gaps, and analyze trends in control measurements.
- Guide the team to enhance compliance across the organization and collaborate with internal and external auditors on audits and remediation efforts
- Promote a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement by providing training and support to others.
- Provide technical and industry expertise to staff, partners and IT management.
- Contribute to the implementation and operationalization of IAM business process and the governance supporting those practices.
- Assess agile ticket queues and utilize metrics to identify trends and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with IAM Governance team and PO to respond to compliance and audit findings.
- Ensure resiliency of all services with updated DR plans, effective monitoring and alerting and robust High-Performance Engineering (HPE) development practices.
- Contribute to the financial oversight of the IAM BPG services.
- May act as Project Sponsor for large initiatives.
Qualifications
- Excellent leadership abilities with a minimum of five years of people-leadership experience (may include matrixed management experience).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation and consensus building skills.
- Deep understanding of Governance authoritative sources (including, but not limited to State Cyber Laws, such as CPRA, NYDFS, NIST CFS 2.0, PCI 4.0, CISv8).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Five years of Identity and Access Management experience and deep understanding of Business Process and Cybersecurity Governance.
- Experience in creating and developing effective communications to include both presentations and written notifications (email, postings and messaging to stakeholders).
- Experience using Agile methods for implementing and managing on-premises, cloud-based and SaaS solutions.
- Experience in the creation of cybersecurity practices and frameworks.
- Cybersecurity certifications (CISM, CISSP, etc.) a plus.
- Ability to navigate and thrive in a complex technical and organizational environment.
