Senior Technical Writer (Contractor)

About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to join the Product team on a 6-month contract basis. In this role, you’ll help create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation that enhances the user experience and delights our customers.

• Duration: 6 months

• Hours: 40 hours per week

• Location: Remote OR Hybrid-Boston

What You’ll Do:

• Improve existing documentation to ensure accuracy and clarity

• Create documentation for new platform features and updates

• Copy-edit documentation pull requests from other team members

• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to validate technical accuracy

• Identify and address documentation gaps

• Maintain documentation using a GitHub-based workflow

• Use Jira to track documentation requests from internal and external stakeholders

What You’ll Need:

• 5+ years of technical writing experience

• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and explain them clearly

• Experience with docs-as-code tools, including Git, pull requests, and Markdown

• Proven experience documenting cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong project management and organizational skills

Bonus points if you have experience with ReadMe.com, static site generators, documenting APIs using OpenAPI specifications, and working with remote teams — especially if you’re also familiar with FinOps concepts.
