Job Description

Our healthcare system is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the U.S. Every year, over 50 million Americans suffer adverse financial consequences as a result of seeking care, from lower credit scores to garnished wages. The challenge is only getting worse, as high deductible health plans are the fastest growing plan design in the U.S.

Cedar’s mission is to leverage data science, smart product design and personalization to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. Today, healthcare providers still engage with its consumers in a “one-size-fits-all” approach; and Cedar is excited to leverage consumer best practices to deliver a superior experience.

The Role

Cedar is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr./Lead Product Manager to spearhead the strategy, development, and execution of our cutting-edge conversational AI product for healthcare billing. This is a pivotal role where you will own the product roadmap, drive innovation, and collaborate closely with engineering, data science, design, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions that enhance the patient billing experience and improve operational efficiency for healthcare providers.

As the Senior/Lead Product Manager, you will lead a talented team of engineers, data scientists, and designers to define how patients interact with AI voice agents to resolve their inquiries. You will work to quickly identify and ship new features and launch new automation use cases. You will leverage your deep understanding of product management principles, conversational AI technologies, and the complexities of the healthcare billing landscape to build and scale a world-class product.

This is not a typical “big company” product role – it’s a unique opportunity to lead early stage product development with the resources of an established company. This role will be challenging, sometimes requiring you to stretch beyond the typical role of a product manager, but will also be fun and rewarding. It’s a fantastic opportunity for those who enjoy getting a product from “zero to one” and delivering value to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize opportunities for the application of conversational AI. You will be responsible for doing market, user, and customer research, identifying opportunities to solve problems with this technology.
  • Manage development of new products and features. You will be responsible for defining the “what” and “why” of each feature and product. You will manage a feature backlog, defining prioritization for the engineering team.
  • Stakeholder management. Effectively communicate the product vision, roadmap, and progress to internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, sales, marketing, and customer success teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5-10+ years of experience in a product role at a tech company or early stage start-up, especially shipping data-powered features or products.
  • Experience working with commercial counterparts to successfully launch and scale new products & features.
  • Experience with all aspects of product and feature development, such as managing a product backlog, working with designers to create features, and working with engineering teams to implement and maintain a product.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Previous experience shipping AI or ML products
  • Experience managing development of an early stage product
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle management
  • SQL, Python

Compensation Range and Benefits

  • Salary/Hourly Rate Range*: $164,050 – $193,000
  • This role is equity eligible
  • This role offers a competitive benefits and wellness package

*Subject to location, experience, and education
